The chairman asked Mr. Freudenfeld, who represented the petitioners,

Mr. Lawler, representing a group of people against the request,
was then given permission to speak. He stated that people
within 1/2 mile were not notified and that the people he
represented equal 1.5 million dollar valuation. The petition
filed with the Board contained 89% signers living, in Milwaukee
County. He also cited the problems of dust, trucking and dynamiting
and felt .that a restoration plan would not be possible. He felt
that a creation of a pit would lower land values and is detrimental
to the sale of hmnes, and the residential growth in the area will
be hampered.
Mr. Padway, uho represented 15 families of the City of Franklin,
then spoke. Be felt that request for permission not allowed in
present zoning district and the extent of operation not United by definition.
Mr. Wasar stated that he felt that the Hales Corners Sand k Gravel
is not being forced out of their present location. He questioned

Mr. J. Magarich then spoke in behalf of gravel operations. He
stated that gravel is needed for the building of roada, homes, etc.
He felt that hia pit has bothered no one and ha8 been there for
years. He felt that if his pit is a nuisance so are the children
who tear. down his fences and trample his corn and grain and also
hunt on his farm.
