REPORT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT
The two newest officers are Zachary Degner who started on 05/25/15 and Jeffrey Sartorius
Jr. who started on 07/13/15. Chief Moser advised the department is still down two officers and
background checks have started on two candidates.
Chief Moser advised that Captain David Constantineau is back from the FBI Academy and will
be at the October meeting to share his experience with the commission.
So far the summer has been busy; the department has taken over 300 case reports (including
traffic offenses) since 06/01/15. Usually an average month is approximately 200 case reports
(including traffic offenses.) The Fourth of July weekend was below average for the number of
complaints received regarding fireworks violations, with about a dozen complaints.
The department will be purchasing an automatic license plate reader that will be mounted to
one of the squad cars. The equipment will be paid for utilizing funds from the asset forfeiture
account.
The Chief also advised that the department will be looking into body cameras for the officers;
however, they will be taking a slow approach and doing a large amount of research before
making any purchases.
Chief advised that our department has entered into an agreement with Mukwonago and Elm
Grove Police Departments to purchase 911 equipment, which will be stored at our police
department. The move was cost effective and will hopefully help to promote text to 911 in our
communities.
National Night Out will be Thursday, August 6, 2015.
St. Paul's Lutheran Church/School will be holding a golf outing on Saturday, August 22, 2015
with the proceeds going to our K9 fundraising fund.
The chief handed out the crime statistics for the last three years.
K-9 Sirius is doing well and progressing each week.
