pfcm042116 Unapproved CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MINUTES April 21, 2016 6:00 PM Muskego Police Department, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Kuwitzky at 6:03PM. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Roll call was taken with Commissioners Kuwitzky, Mooney, Whittow and Glazier present. Chief Moser was also in attendance. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE The meeting was posted on April 19, 2016. APPROVAL OF AGENDA ITEMS Rob Glazier made a motion to approve APPROVAL OF AGENDA ITEMS, Steve Whittow seconded. Motion Passed 4 in favor. APPROVAL OF MINUTES John A. Mooney made a motion to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, Rob Glazier seconded. Approval of minutes from 01/21/16. PUBLIC APPEARANCE REPORT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT Chief Moser advised that the department is now down two more officers, since January, when Officer Boyd resigned. Officer Lemanczyk left to go to Kenosha Police Department and Lieutenant Kaebisch will be retiring as of June 1st. Captain Constantineau was out on medical leave and is expected to return in early May. The truck enforcement that the police department has been performing has generated over 30 stops, with some trucks in excess of 60,000 lbs overweight. The citations have brought in approximately $11,000.00 to date. New signs have been posted at the entrances to the city so all truck drivers are aware of the restrictions. The police department has also been participating in the SE WI OWI taskforce. Two employees, Matt Curran and Lisa Hanson had attended the POST (Police Officer Support Team) training at Milwaukee Police Department's training facility and are now certified to assist with on/off job stress that effect officers performances. There will be a Special Olympics mini torch run on 05/07/16 that will take place in the city. The department awards ceremony will be on 05/17/16, at 7:00PM. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Update on hiring process - Chief Moser. Chief Moser updated the commissioners on the hiring process. 62 have been scheduled to take the physical agility test on Saturday, 04/23/16. Those who pass the physical will partake in the written test on the same day. The department hopes to schedule police and fire commission interviews within two weeks. After a brief discussion the PFC decided to do interviews on Wednesday, 05/18/16 and Thursday, 05/19/16. After the PFC interviews the candidates will be interviewed by police staff. The backgrounds, drug screen, physical and psychological will take place after that. CLOSED SESSION DATE OF NEXT MEETING July 21, 2016. ADJOURNMENT Prior to the adjounment, Commission Kuwitzky advised that Blenda Treba has resigned her position since her term expires May 1, 2016 and the Mayor will be appointing somone to replace her.
