PUBLIC APPEARANCE
REPORT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT
Chief Rens advised that the police department is again down one employee. He, Captain
Constantineau and Officer Patterson went to MATC and WCTC within the last week to present
a flier and generate applications from the recruit classes that are currently underway. Chief
advised that he was hoping to have enough applications and the process will be to the point of
interviews with the PFC by June.
Chief Rens advised that the department just implemented a wellness policy and have a
therapist on board as a mental health advisor.
The department's new tasers have arrived and will be implemented as soon as everyone is
certified on them.
The department is currently working on a body camera policy and will most likely be going with
Panasonic body cameras. There are a few more details that need to be ironed out before
making any purchases.
The departments drone is up and running. Paul from the GIS Department has been certified
and will be training other members of the department on how to operate the drone. It was
utilized on Tuesday to search for two juveniles that were missing on Little Muskego Lake. The
kids were found safe; however, the drone provided extra assistance that we didn't have in the
past.
