pfcm101818 CITY OF MUSKEGO Approved POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MINUTES October 18, 2018 6:00 PM Muskego Police Department, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Commissioner Kuwitzky at 6:10PM. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE ROLL CALL Roll call was taken with Commissioners Kuwitzky, Whittow, Glazier, and Kuspa present. Captain Constantineau was in attendance and Commissioner Mooney was excused. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE The meeting was posted 10/12/18 APPROVAL OF AGENDA ITEMS APPROVAL OF MINUTES Commissioner Glazier made a motion to approve the minutes from the July 19, 2018 meeting. Commissioner Whittow seconded. All in favor. PUBLIC APPEARANCE REPORT FROM POLICE DEPARTMENT Captain Constantineau advised that Chief Rens was at a conference. Captain Constantineau advised they body cameras have been deployed for officers to get st familiar with. November 1 all body cameras will be fully utilized. There was a short discussion on storage and training. Commissioner Kuwitzky asked if there would be a public announcement that the department will now be using them. Captain Constantineau advised that most likely they will post something. Captain Constantineau advised that the department is actively fundraising to purchase another dog. The department was accepted into the Aftermath K9 Grant, to try and win a grant to purchase the dog. He asked that everyone assist with voting and spreading the word to vote. Officer Steven Pipia has resigned his position and will be going to the City of Waukesha Police Department. The transport van is still not in use, as there was a problem with the chair lift and a parts recall. The company installing the lift advised it should be completed by mid-November. Dylan Lange will be attending DARE school in North Carolina. The school is free and the airfare and car rental will be split with the PD and the School District. Captain Constantineau demonstrated some new LED lights that were purchased out of last year’s capital budget. Captain Constantineau updated the committee on the building project status. This last week the department was finalizing furniture and dispatch stations. The department is hoping to move in sometime between July and September of 2019. The department is also currently accepting dispatcher applications. OLD BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS Election of Officers – Commissioner Mooney asked that this agenda item be deferred until the next meeting when all commissioners will be in attendance. Commissioner Whittow made a motion to defer. Commission Glazier seconded. All in favor.
