CITY OF MUSKEGO POLICE & FIRE COMMISSION
January 17, 2013
The regular meeting of the Muskego Police & Fire Commission was held on Thursday, January 17, 2013,
in the conference room of the City of Muskego Police Department. Commissioner Gleason called the
meeting to order at 7:00PM.
Pledge of Allegiance
Roll call was taken with Commissioners Gleason, Treba, Sindic, Kuwitzky, and Mooney present.
Statement of Public Notice was given to the press and posted on Monday, January 14, 2013.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to approve the agenda items and Commissioner Sindic seconded.
Motion carried unanimously.

Commissioner Kuwitzky made a motion to accept the minutes from the October 25, October 30,

November 10, November 19, November 20, and November 28, 2012 meetings. Commissioner
Sindic seconded and motion carried unanimously.
REPORT FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT:
An officer was hired and will be starting recruit training at MATC on Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
A sergeant has resigned effective March 31, 2013.
One of two vacant positions for clerical has been filled with interviews continuing for the second
position.
Lt. Constantineau is now the public information officer.
Officer Ann Shaw was assigned to the position of Community Resource Officer effective January
2, 2013.
Chief reported most reports taken during the holiday season dealt with retail theft.
The department’s SWAT team will be merging with tactical teams from Lakes and New Berlin.
Final details are being worked on.

NEW BUSINESS:
Review open records law – the commission perused the “Top Ten Open Meetings Law Issues”
provided by the city’s attorney.
Review of chief of police selection process – the commission discussed the recent promotion of
Craig Moser to the position of chief of police. The commission decided the process went very
well and plan on using the same process in the future.
Review of chief of police job description – the commission asked for a few changes/additions to
the job description.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to accept the promotion of Richard Rens to Captain.
Commissioner Kuwitzky seconded and motion carried. Commissioner Kuwitzky made a motion
to accept the promotion of James Rozeski to the position of Lieutenant. Commission Mooney
second and motion carried unanimously.
Discussion of the commission’s meeting location - After some discussion it was determined to
keep the location of the meetings at the police department. Chief Moser asked that the
meeting time be changed from 7:00PM to 6:00PM.
Discussion of current police officer hiring process – The commissioners determined they will stay
with the current list of candidates for the position of officer. The commission plans on holding
interviews in mid-February in order to fill the remaining position.

The date of the next meeting will be Thursday, April 13, 2013 at 6:00PM.
Commissioner Mooney made a motion to adjourn and Commissioner Treba seconded. Motion carried
unanimously and the meeting was adjourned at 8:20PM.
