MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 20.. 1977
The meeting was called to order bi Chairman Scl+nnberg at 8:44 P.M.
Also present were coqrmittee members Tomczyk and Dumke, Supt. Bertram,
Aldermen Wallner and Pienkos, Mr. Robert Wollman and John, Stender.
Mr. John Stender appeared at the meeting to present plans for develop-
ment of nine lots on the former Wm. Bailey property on Durham Drive.
Ald. Schaumberg explained to Mr. Stcnder that the Public Works Cornittee
is mainly concerned.with a "drainage plan" although the roads seem.
adequate. Mr. Stender was further advised that his plans for develop-
ment of the lots should first receive Plan Commission approval, then
be referred to the Sewer Committee and finally to the Public Works
Committee.
MY. Robert Wollman again appeared at the meeting to inquire whether or
not a determination had been made regarding the use of the utility easement
in the area of Durham Meadows Subdijision for drainage. Supt. Bertram
A advised that he had contacted all persons involved and all were agreeable
to. the city's plan and he will proceed with the necessary work as soon as ;possible.
DiScussion was held regarding the progress of the sewer coz3truct$on in
Bay Lawn and Freedom Acres Subdivision?. Supt. Bertram suggested the
city might want to look into the possibility of invoking the' late
charge penalty.
Supt. Bertram reported that he has again contacted Mr. Ray Gray
regarding the reseeding of Guernsey.Meadows Subdivision.
The committee directed that City Attorney Buckley contact the Town of
Norway's attorney regarding the drainaGe problem on South Denoon Rd.
Supt. Bertram advised {hat plans and gp&cifictitions have been prepared
for the proposed iqvert to be installed from S.T.H. 24 to Windsor Rd.
in the area of the Yanny property. Aid, Scbumberg moved to recommend
that bids for the project be advertiged. Seconded by Al!. Tomczyk,
motion carried.
Supt. Bertram advised that his bid for the.concrtite .pipe at 'the
Cudahy Packing Company has been accepted.
The minutes of the previous meetilig held on October 6, 1977 .B were
reviewed and placed on file.
0 Supt. Bertram discussed with the committee the new construction in
the area of College Avenue and S.T.H. 24. He indicated that if
Mr. Robert Gumieny would purchase 20 feet of culvert pipe the city
would install it, thus, solving the access problem,
Supt. Bertram advised the committee that he has been observing various
brands of jack harmners in operation. Ald. Qumke moved that Supt.
- ;* Bertram be authorized to spend the necessary funds for the purchase of
such equipment. '~ Seconded by.Ald. Tomczyk. Motion carried.
Ald. Tomczyk moved to ~adjourn, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion
cai-ried. The meeting adjourned at LO:02 P.M.
