Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 1/5/1977MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 5, 1977 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg. were Aldermen Ford and Dumke, Supt. Bertram and Mr. T. Kinsey, Mr. Blum and Mr. Smith of the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation. Mr. Kinsey reviewed with the committee the revised plan for adding a fifth lane on Highway 24 from the east city limits to a point just west of College Avenue. intersections. Mr. Kinsey also indicated that the reason for the re- vision of the plans was because of the problems that vehicles have turning west off of College Avenue. is $lOO,OOO.OO of which the city would be expected to pay 10%. It would be the city's responsibility to acquire from Mr. George Small a very small portion of land needed for the re-routing of College Ave., Common Council assurance that the city would pay 10% of the total cost and the city would have to make some arrangements for the maintenance of the small section of road left over as a result of the relocation of College Avenue. Supt. Bertram discussed with the committee the opportunity he has to purchase approximately $20,000.00 worth of concrete pipe (seconds) from the Waukesha Tile Company. He indicated that the city would save approximately 50% of the cost. Ald. Ford moved to authorize Mr. Bertram to purchase approximately $20,000.00 of concrete pipe. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Supt. Bertram reviewed with the committee some of the problems he is having with citizens wishing fill from the Norway Sewer Project. He indicated that it would be beneficial if the city had some way of knowing exactly where the fill was going, how much would be used and what affect it would have on the surrounding properties. The committee agreed to have Zoning Officer Lee appear at the next meeting to discuss the matter. The committee reviewed road plans and sanitary sewer plans Club Oaks submitted by Scott Krause. Supt.
