PWCommittee - MINUTES - 7/6/1972PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MDSKEGO MXNDTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 6, 1972 The meeting was called to order by Chairman DeBack at lo:25 P.M. Also present were Committee members Aldermen Schaumberg and Ford, Mayor Gott- fried and Aldermen Foldy, Knudsen and Dumke. Ald. Knudsen reported that Mr. Daliege and Mr. Kostka have complained of water from along Gold Drive being diverted onto their land. Supt. Bertram will be asked to inspect the area. l Ald. Knudsen reported a complaint from Shirley Giesegh that water is being diverted onto her land at Gold and Lembezeder Drives caused by the building of three new homes to the south. The matter will be referred to Engineer Barry. Ald. Foldy reported a complaint from a Mr. Truesdale of water being diverted onto his property caused by fill placed on the adjacent Couture property. The matter will be referred to Engineer Barry. Ald. Ford reported on the recent tour of Parkland Plaza to discuss with Architect William Paschke the poor condition of the streets, drainage ditches and sediment control ponds. City Officials present were Mayor Gottfried, Supt. Bertram, Engineer Barry and Ald. Ford. c Chairman Harold DeBack reported that the School Board, at the joint meeting of the Council,and ,the Board, requested that the city make anoffer relative to taking over Bay Lane Rd. Ald. Ford moved to defer this matter until more information could be obtained. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Mayor Gottfried reported that the City may have to pay Harold Diekfuss for crop damage on approximately five acres of city land leased by Mr. Diekfuss. Construction of the new city garage will necessitate the damage. Ald. Ford requested that Supt. Bertram and Engineer Barry inspect the baseball diamond at Jensen Center to determine what can be done to solve the drainage problem there. The request was made on behalf of the Park and Recreation Board. Ald. Ford reported that the Park and Recreation Board voted to close the Little Muskego Lake access at the end of Emerald Drive to vehicular traffic until the lake is refilled. The action was taken because of dust, litter and noise problems. Ald. Ford moved to have Supt. Bertram erect the necessary barrier to temporarily close the park. Seconded by Ald. Schaum- berg, motion carried. Correspondence was read and applications for employment were reviewed and l placed on file. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
