PWCommittee - MINUTES - 10/5/1972PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSREGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD OCTOBER 5, 1972 Chairman DeBack called the meeting to order at 8:00 P.M. Also present were committee members Schaumberg and Ford, Mayor Gottfried, Engineer Barry and Supt. Bertram. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Peterson, S68 W16918 Martin Drive, appeared to discuss the drainage ditch work being done in front of their property. Mr. Frank DeAngelis, S87 W19543 Woods Rd., appeared to discuss the road easement through his property. After much discussion, Ald. Ford moved to reaffirm the previous action of the committee regarding this matter. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg. The motion carried with Aid. DeBack voting "no". Mr. Garland Hetzel, S70 W17855 Muskego Drive, appeared to discuss a drainage problem at his house. Supt. Bertram will attempt to locate an old unused tile which goes to the lake as a possible solution. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Common Council accept the low bid of DeBack Grading for the reconstruction of Tess Corners Drive from Woods Rd. to the County Line in the amount of $50,667.00 minus $6,900.00 covering the seeding which will be reviewed at a later date. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. Mayor Gottfried agreed to talk to Mr. Fillman of Woods Road regarding the restoration agreement between Mr. Fillman a~nd the City. Ald. Ford requested that a drainage survey be made of the area roughly bounded by Martin Drive, Lentini Drive and College Avenue and then south to Jewel Creek to determine future storm sewer needs. Engineer Barry agreed to make such a survey. Engineer Barry reported that the grading contractor for the Industrial Park site is not making a serious attempt to complete his work despite recent good weather. Consequently, progress on the city garage is being delayed. Ruekert & Mielke will be asked to "light a fire" under the contractor. Chairman DeBack reported a request by the Safety Committee that the Public Works Department purchase a few road barricades for police use in emergencies. Supt. Bertram suggested that the Police Dept. continue to utilize the services of the Barricade Service Co. because they are inexpensive and reliable. Mayor Gottfried reported that no reply has yet been received from Waukesha County Mighway Commissioner Vence Demshar regarding additional culverts needed at 165th and College Ave. Supt. Bertram and Engineer Barry reported that they had surveyed the Ruby Drive area and that no ditch could be placed on the north side of Ruby Drive without an easement from the property owners. Supt. Bertram reported that he has obtained a temporary construction easement from George Schaefer of Lions Park Drive for a storm sewer to Little Muskego Lake. Work will proceed as soon as possible. Ford moved that the city install approximately 165' of underground storm sewer through the Robert Sadowski property on Topaz Drive to correct drainage problems in that area. The remaining 100' to Jewel Creek will be swaled. A permanent easement will be required. The motion was seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Correspondence was reviewed and placed on file. The 1973 Highway Dept. budget was reviewed and approved by the Committee. Chairman DeBack agreed to provide committee members with copies of the Capital Budget for review at the next meeting. Ald.
