PWCommittee - MINUTES - 7/21/1976_- 6 0 0 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 21, 1976 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 8:45 P.M. Also present were committee members Aldermen Dumke and Ford, Mayor Gottfried, Aldermen Constantineau and Pienkos. Mr. Wayne Foster, representing Wimmer-Blatter Realty, appeared to discuss final sewer, water and drainage plans for Lake Lore Estates. The committee noted that the recommended storm sewers have been provided for and that the city's consulting engineers have reviewed and approved the sewer and water plans. The committee agreed to recommend final approval of the plat with the understanding that catch basins be provided at the inlet of all storm sewers and that the lake be pro- tected from erosion at the outlet of the storm sewers. The city must approve any specific plans. Mr. Foster advised the committee that it is their intent to have either a two or three well system which could include Tudor Oaks and the proposed development to the east. Mr. Bryce Styza, representing Harmony Homes, appeared to request release of $25,000.00 cash bond which had been held for the city by City Federal Savings and Loan. The committee noted that Supt. of Public Works Bertram had recommended release of the monies. Ald. Schaumberg moved to authorize the Mayor to release the funds. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The minutes of the last meeting were reviewed and placed on file. Ald. Wallner requested that the city find some way to remove the bogs which had blocked the dam on the south end of Big Muskego Lake. Mr. Bertram was directed to review the situation and report back to the committee. A communication was received from Mr. V. F. Demshar, Waukesha County Highway Commission, regarding the condition of the right-of-way adjacent to the city's industrial park. The matter was referred to Supt. Bertram. The committee reviewed a letter from the Building Inspection office to the city's consulting engineers and Mr. Ray Gray regarding the steps required for approval of the installation and construction of the roads and utilities in the Kristin Downs Subdivision. Same placed on file. Ald. Ford brought before the committee the question of why all improvements in the subdivision including the seeding and sodding of ditches, installation of culverts, etc. cannot be completed prior to issuing of Building Permits. Mayor Gottfried was directed to contact surrounding communities to determine what requirements they have in this matter. The committee reviewed the certified survey map of the Ada Butcher property east of Tess Corners Drive. The committee noted that the Building Inspector has recommended a $33,000.00 bond to assure completion of roads and sewers. Ald. Ford moved to establish the necessary $33,000.00 bond. Constantineau advised the committee that he had been requested by the Hillview Advancement Association to have the city replace a concrete pillar which had been removed from the entrance to their lake park when the sewers were constructed in the area, Supt. Bertram )! was directed to provide the necessary pillar. Ald. Ford requested that a copy of the drainage study involving Hardtke Drive be sent to Mr. Jeschke. Ald. Ford also requested that the committee contact Mr. Froelich regarding the sewer fill which had been placed on his property. He reminded the committee that Mr. Froelich agreed to level the area and establish ground covering by the spring of 1976. Supt. Bertram was directed to contact Mr. Froelich regarding the matter. Ald. Ford also requested that the city determine whether or not the fill which is being placed on the Daliege property is within the limits previously established. Supt. Bertram was directed to review the matter and report back to the committee. 0 Ald. Pienkos reminded the committee that the drainage ditch between Schmidt Park and Mr. Leo LaMacchio's has not been cleaned out and that the invert behind Hardwick Ct. needed cleaning. Supt. Bertram was directed to review the problem. Mayor Gottfried was also directed to contact the City of New Berlin regarding the accumulation of trash from the outdoor theater on Highway 24. ‘A" "V' Ald. Pienkos also asked the Public Works Dept. on Sherwood Circle. c-2 buyF;he needed gravel Mr. Bertram will be direct ,,'to cut the noxious weeds which are around the Budish property on Groveway Lane and the Froelich property on Gold Drive and Lembezeder Drive. Ald. Constantineau discussed with the committee a bill received from Ruekert & Mielke for storm water study in Hale Park Meadows. Mayor Gottfried was directed to review the matter and report back to the committee. Ald. Ford moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 11:OO P.M.
