PWCommittee - MINUTES - 4/29/1976PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 29, 1976 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 8:15 P.M. Also present were committee members Ford and Dumke, Supt. Bertram, Mayor Gottfried, and Aldermen Colburn, Constantineau and Pienkos. Mr. Herb Peutzer and Mr. Ray Gray, representing MC Development CO., Inc., appeared before the committee to discuss engineering plans for Kristin Downs Planned Unit Development. Ald. Colbum raised several questions relating to drainage of the area, water supply, roads, etc. Mr. Peutzer reviewed with the committee the previously approved engineering plans answering several of the questions raised by Aid. Colburn. Ald. Pienkos advised the developers that by improving communications between themselves and the residents of the subdivision many individual problems could be solved. Aid. Colbum indicated that the Welfare Committee would be interested in developing a proposal which would assure the city that all homeowners were fully aware of deed re- strictions required by the city. At the request of Mr. Ray Gray the committee agreed to permit the roads to be constructed with 6" of gravel, 3" of black base, ly' binder and 1" asphalt topping. Mr. Hawes and Mr. Buerger, representing the Hillendale Heights Homeowners Association, appeared to express their concern over the requests for building permits on two lots which are presently needed for storm water drainage. The committee assured Mr. Hawes and Buerger that they will view the area prior to making any decision in the matter. Supt. Bertram advised the connnittee that the Jewel Creek Headwall has been completed and the problem with the Pellage property corrected. Ald. Ford moved to authorize the release of the final payment. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Supt. Bertram suggested that the committee find a way, if possible, to require the builders of the multiple units in Durham Meadows Planned Unit Development to place a lift on that portion of Cornell Drive which was opened and will be opened in the future for sewer lateral installation. Gerald Lee discussed with the coannittee the adequacy of the culvert installed by Mr. Carl Wauer when he built his residence at the end of Riese Drive. Mr. Lee was directed to contact Ruekert & Mielke for the necessary engineering data. Mr. Ray Gray of Rite Realty requested that the city release all monies presently held by First Federal and to accept a cash bond in the amount of $50,000.00 to assure completion of contracts for Guernsey Meadows Subdivision. Ald. Ford moved to grant the request, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. The committee reviewed the request of Rite Realty for release of monies on the well contract for Guernsey Meadows ($20,000.00). The committee noted that after the release of the requested monies sufficient funds would still be available to assure iompletion of the balance of the work. ‘\ \ , . . Public Works Committee 4129176 Page 2 a Mayor Gottfried advised the committee that he has not heard from Mr. Anton Beringer regarding the city's offer to purchase land which he owns on Lochcrest.Dr. Ald. Constantineau advised the committee of a storm sewer problem on Gold Drive adjacent to the Pfeffer property. Supt. Bertram will look at the problem. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald.
