Aldermen Golbum.and Knudsen were in attendance. Since a quorum was not present it was decided to note the several items that were to be discussed at the meeting as well as the report of Highway Foreman Ken Thode and problems submitted by the aldermen present. a Mayor Gottfried reported that Highway Foreman Thode advised him that they are still trying to arrange the movement of the telephone cable located north of the proposed bowling alley building. He anticipated that it would take another week. Weeds in the Parkland Subdivision outlots are being cut by the city. The amount to be assessed will have to be determined by the committee. The cul de sac at the end of Thode Drive is now being constructed and should be completed within a week. Several portions of Thode Drive and Heinrich Drive will be dug out to remove the soft areas. The cost to replace the trees on the Gilbert Manske property was $160.00. 0 Several ditch bonds have been returned to the property owners in the Hale Park Meadows Subdivision as they have completed their landscaping. Mayor Gottfried indicated that he has received a request from the owners of properties on the northwest corner of Martin and Hardtke Drive to relocate a drainage ditch traversing through the property. Mayor Gottfried reported that Roger Johnson has advised him that the repairs to the drainage swales and the backslopes of Martin Drive in the vicinity of Shagbark Subdivision will be taken care of in the next few weeks. Mr. Harry Nimtz appeared to discuss the Westwood-Lannon Drive storm sewer project. He expressed the following concerns: (a) the catch basis is too high and will not effectively drain the back lots, (b) whether or not the seeding &hat was done will provide adequate,$round cover, (c) whether or not the city plans to hold back any contract Payments to be sure that the project is completed as proposed, (d) whether or not his culvert along Lannon Drive will be replaced as originally planned. He has been advised by the contractor that it was their intent to insert a smaller culvert inside of his present one. He did not feel that this would provide adequate 0 drainage along Lannon Drive, (e) is the city planning to remove the old 36" culvert on Lannon Drive which was formerly used to drain the area? Mr. Nimtz was advised that Supt. Bertram will review these.concems with the contractor. Ald. Colburn reported that a driveway has been established on Cook Drive to serve Bethel Churoh.without a culvert. Ald. Colbum also reported that he has received numerous complaints of dirt in the vicinity of Hedgewood and Southern Drives where construction of "~o$eral homes is taking place. The Police Department will be-notified. 3“ Public Works Committee Inform&l meeting 7117175 e Page 2. I Ald. Colburn advised that he has received several requests to have the weeds on the lake right-of-way between the Ebli and Falkowski residences on Schubring Drive cut. Ald. Colbum requested that the minutes of the previous meeting be amended -w to show that he had suggested that the committee consider the possibility of creating an assessment district for Parkland Subdivisions 1, 2 & 3. The district to concern itself with maintenance of the outlots and drainage swales, Ald. Knudsen requested that the committee seriously consider needed improve- ments to the ditches along Richdorf and Bay ShorelDrioes, particularly in the area of the hill. He suggested that perhaps inverts with check dams would solve the problem. Ald. Knudsen reminded the committee of the complaint registered by several residents living in the Lochcrest Drive area that excessive erosion in the ditches has taken place.
