MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MAY 22, 1975
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 8:15 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Dumke, Mayor Gottfried and Supt. Bertram.
The minutes of the last meeting will be reviewed at the next meeting.
Mr. Bryce Styza, representing Harmony Homes, appeared at the meeting
regarding his request for a release of the $25,000.00 security bond
-* presently being held by the city to assure proper drainage in The Ridges
Subdivision. Mr. Styza did not agree with the proposal that concrete
inverts were needed along drainage ditches. He indicated that he would
be willing to add some stone to the easement areas and place sod in areas
where erosion has begun. The cormnittee will review the area Tuesday
mmuming before making a decision.
Mr. Moore, representing Freedom Square condominiums, appeared to object to
the use of their water system by the city. Mr. Bertram explained why it
was necessary at times to use their water system and actually of benefit to
the residents in the area. Ald. Colbum and Mayor Gottfried will attentl
the meeting of their association to be held on Thursday, May 29th, to discuss
the matter with the group,
Several residents of Fountainwood Addition #3 appeared to receive information
on the proposed installation of inverts from Longfellow Lane to Windsor Dr.
Ald. Foldy discussed the possibility of extending the invert north of
Windsor.
Mr. Ray Gray, representing Rite Realty, appeared to discuss the engineering
plans for Guernsey Meadows Subdivision. He indicated that the minimum
grade is 0.7% and the maximum is 5%. He further indicated that several
hundred feet of storm sewer was being installed where those grade limites
could not be maintained and check dams were being placed at the end of
the storm sewer to guard against erosion. Mr. Gray also advised the
committee that final grades will be established on the four comers of
all lots. Mr. Gray was advised that the resolution regarding approval of
the preliminary plat would be considered at the next Council meeting along
with resolutions approving the subdivider's agreement and deed restrictions
and authorization for bidding the project.
Willard Bertram was authorized to purchase economy type (seconds) concrete
invert pipe for $300.00.
Bids for ;installation of sewer and water for the industrial park were
reviewed along with the recormnendation of the city's consulting engineer.
Ald. Schaumberg moved as seconded by Ald. Dumke, to recormnend Council l acceptance of Reesman Construction Company in the amount of $101,038.75.
Motion carried.
Communication from the Federal District and Assistance Administration was
reviewed indicating approval of a total amount of $18,717.01. The city has
received $14,988.00 leaving a balance due of $3,729.01. Same placed on file.
Ald. Colbum reminded the committee that the ditches on Parkland Dr. and

Briargate Lane need cleaning, the fence across from Bay Lane School need
fixing, new homes on Valley Drive have been causing drainage problems to
the Kerr property and a solution to the drainage problem in the Kingston
triangle must be found.
Ald. Dumke moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at lo:30 P.M.
