MINUTES OF MEETING HELD ON MARCH 20, 1975
The meeting was called to order at 8:25 P.M. by Chairman Schaumberg. Also
present were Aldermen Ford and Wallner and Supt. Bertram.
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Salentine and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Guhr appeared to
discuss flooding of their farm land by water collected along Kelsey Drive.
The committee agreed to meet at the site at 8:30 A.M. March 21, 1975, with
Supt. Bertrsm and Messrs. Salentine and Guhr.
Mr. Ray Gray and Mr. Herb Puetzer appeared to protest the city's proposed
requirement of curb and gutter for Guernsey Meadows and Kristin Downs
Subdivisions. After a lengthy discussion, the committee agreed to review
the matter when drainage plans are submitted. Alternatives such as sod
and concrete inverts were discussed.
Supt. Bertram reported that guardrails had been ordered for Glenb~rook Drive.
Ald. Ford moved to recommend that the Conmon Council authorize the purchase
of salt shed construction materials from the Wheeler Division of St. Regis
Paper Company at a cost not to exceed $12,150.00. Seconded by Ald. Schaum-
berg, motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to reconmend that the Common Council accept the
low bid of Payne & Dolan for 1975 asphalt requirement at $12.37 per ton.
Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Cormnon Council accept the
low bid of Charles S. Martin, Inc. for 1975 road oil requirements
(SC - MC - RC & emulsions - 52c per gal. and Pea gravel $5.90/tan).
Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
Supt. Bertram agreed to talk to the new owner of the Anton Beringer
property regarding acquiring a small parcel of land for road drainage
improvement purposes.
Correspondence was reviewed and placed on file.
Applications for employment were reviewed and placed on file.
Supt. Bertram advised that new street signs for Silver Drive and for
Hillendale at Racine are on order.
Ald. Ford moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 11:30 P.M.
