MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 18, 1975
0 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 8~00 P.M. Also
present were Aldermen Schaumberg, Ford, Dumke, Wallner, Knudsen and Colburn,
Mayor Gottfried and Supt. Bertram.
The following persons attended the meeting to hear the city's consulting
engineer discuss a possible solution to drainage problems in the Tess
Comers area. Mayor Gottfried introduced the city's engineer, Frank

Ruekert, Jr., an&reviewed with the citizens present the reasons the
city feels something must be done to correct present and potential storm
water drainage problems in the Tess Comers area.
Mr, Frank Ruekert, Jr. discussed at great length the existing problems
and one of the possible ways of solving them. He pointed out that much of what we plan is dependent upon cooperation from the City of New Berlin.
He further indicated that in his opinion the use of detention ponds was
the most economical and logical approach to use. Several questions ..from
those in attendance were answered by members of the cormnittee.
Mr. Bryce Styza, representing Harmony Homes, appeared to discuss several
problems in the Ridges Subdivision.and the committee's directive to the
Building Inspector that all building permits be denied until problems in
the subdivision are resolved. Mr, Styza agreed to bring in a plan for the
construction of concrete inverts in the subdivision which can be reviewed
by the city's consulting engineer. He advised the committee that it
would probably take 30 to 60 days after which he would reappear before
the conunittee. On the basis of that agreement the committee agreed to
withdraw their directive to the Building Inspection Dept. regarding
building permits.
Supt, Bertram advised the committee that Harold DeBack has requested the
release of the $500.00 bond held by the city during the construction of
Keiser Lane. Ald. Ford moved to accept the road and release the bond.
Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
The committee directed Supt. Bertram to get quotations on a vibratory
compactor.
Supt. Bertram advised the committee that Mr. Hans Schmidt, owner of a
lot on Janesville Rd, has requested that the channel from the former dam
which traversed through his lot be moved to be adjacent to Janesville Rd.
Supt. Bertram to contact the State Highway Department.
The committee reviewed a bill from Dr. Glen Reis for an eye analysis. and
glucoma check for a member of the Public Works Department. The question
that was raised was whether or not the city's agreement with the Public
Works Department is only for yearly replacement of safety glasses or for
tests as shown on the billing. The eommittee will review the agreement
with the 'Public Works Department and consider the matter at its next
meeting.
Ald. Ford moved to ad,joum, seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
