PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 18, 1974
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Schaumberg at 8:35 P.M.
Also present were Aldermen Ford, Dumke, Wallner and Knudsen, Supt.
Bertram, Building Inspector Lee and Mayor Gottfried.
Supt. Bertram advised that he has had an insurance rider placed on

the city's present insurance policy involving theft of mechanic's
personal tools at a cost of $25.00.
Supt. Bertram is still awaiting a reply from Mr. Donald Mohan concerning
trees he claims were destroyed by Public Works employees.
The committee directed Supt. Bertram to order the necessary culvert
to be installed in the drainage ditch in the vicinity of Richdorf Dr.
adjacent to the Rydzik property - estimated cost to be $5,000.00.
Ald. Ford moved to recommend to Council authorization to advertise
for bids for the reconstruction of Kelsey Drive from Racine Avenue to
the Vernon Town Line. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
Mr. Clark of the State Highway Commission to be invited by Mr. Lee to
l attend the next meeting to explain the Federal and Urban Assistance
Program.
Mrs. LaRue, Lake Drive, will be invited to the next meeting and by that
time the committee will have cost estimates of storm sewers along her
front lot line.
Mayor Gottfried to contact Vernon Town Chairman Clarence Peterson
regarding the drainage problem on Crowbar Road north of S.T.H. 24.
The committee reviewed bids for liquid asphalt and bituminous asphalt
as follows:

Ald. Ford moved to accept the low bid of Payne & Dolan in the
amount of $11.45 per ton for bituminous asphalt and $.60 per gal.
