PWCommittee-MINUTES- 08/9/1973PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 9,1973. Chairman Schaumberg called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. Also present were Ald. Ford, Ald. Knudsen, Mayor Gottfried, and Supt. Bertram. Ald. Ford moved to recommend that the Common Council execute an agreement with Mr. Erv Arndt to cultivate and seed the Industrial Park. supt. Bertram is authorized to purchase the necessary seed. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg motion carried. supt. Bertram reported that Linnan Construction Co. was not interested in bidding on the Jewel Crest Dam repairs. supt. Bertram reported that Payne and Dolan will resurface the Jensen Center hard surface play area for approx. $l,OOO.OO. Ald. Ford moved to authorize the Public Works Dept. to make needed sewer repairs when the contractors responsible for same are stalling or otherwise uncooperative. This policy will be in effect until further notice by the committee. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Alderman Ford moved to authorize Scopp Electric Co. to install a high amperage line in the new city garage to service the welder. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Common Council accept the completed invert portion of the Fountainwood ditch and release the bond. supt. Bertram agreed to geta quotation for the concrete Inverts to be installed along Richdorf Drive. Mayor Gottfried agreed to contact the developers of Parkland Plaza to determine what their plans are for draining their land south of Hwy-24. The Committee wants this information so it can better determine how to solve the drainage problems along Center Drive. supt. Bertram reported that the new truck that was ordered will not go into production until November 25,1973. It was ordered in March: supt. Bertram was advised that he should attempt to get a larger ease- ment on the south side of drainage ditch adjacent to the Jim Rydzik property on Richdorf Drive. Mayor Gottfried reported that there are a substantial amount of drive- way endwall violations in the city. Those involved will contacted. Ald. Knudsen reported that George Schaefer may have illegally filled a wetland area on his farm. supt. Bertram will check. Mayor Gottfried will discuss with Ray Gray of Rite Realty about the possibility of draining more surface water in Durham Meadows to the southwest. Ald. Knudsen requested that the Committee look into the possibility of widening Hillside Drive. supt. Bertram will do so. Aid. Schaumberg moved to adjourn, seconded by Ald. Ford. Motion car- ried.
