MINUTES OF MEETING HELD APRIL 5, 1973
Chairman DeBack called the meeting to order at 9:00 P.M. Also present
were Aldermen Schaumberg, Ford and Foldy and Mayor Gottfried.
Supt. Bertram reported tha~t a safety railing has been installed around
the new Little Muskego Lake Dam.
Supt. Bertram reported that he had contacted County Highway Commissioner
Vencil Demshar regarding a complaint from Donald E. Wrolstad of W181 S6331
Lentini Drive,about road debris coming off College Ave. onto his property.
Mr. Demshar was promised to investigate the matter and see if the catch
basin is working.
The committee decided not to accept the ditches in Parkland Plaza luztil
the ditches have been graded and cleaned and until cover has been
established.
Ald. Schaumberg moved to request that the Rules, Laws & Ordinance
Committee investigate the problems caused by basement sump water being
directed onto neighbors lawns or eroding soil into city drainage ditches.
Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried.
Ald. Ford reported that the Park and Recreation Board has approved the
placing of underground drainage pipes in Pearl, Diamond and Emerald
Drive Parks. The Public Works Dept. will install the pipes.
Ald. Ford reminded Supt. Bertram of drainage work to be done at the
Walter Peat property on Jewel Crest Drive and along the north property
lines of the homes on the eastern end of Muskego Drive.
Supt. Bertram agreed to look at the drainage problem on the Giefer property
along with Ald. Knudsen.
A discussion was held regarding traffic problems at the intersection of
Lannon and S.T. H. 24. The Mayor agreed to collect all past studies of
the problem for our next meeting.
The committee authorized Scopp Electric Co. to repair a conduit at the
new city garage that was damaged by Molenda Plumbing.
Ald. Ford suggested that the back of the new city garage be painted the
same color as the brick used on the other three sides.
A decision as to what should be done with the city-owned gravel pit on
Durham Drive was deferred until the Park and Recreation Board has a
chance to determine the value of the site as a park.
Ald. Foldy advised that the street sign at 128th and Berger Lane is
wrong. Supt. Bertram agreed to have it corrected.
Ald. Foldy inquired as to the status of plans and specs for the reamhinder
of the Fountainwood ditch inverts. Supt. Bertram agreed to provide a
report at the next meeting.
Supt. Bertram reported that he is getting cost estimates for the gasoline
storage tanks for the new city garage. He reported that 10,000 gals.
is the recommended minimum size.
Correspondence was reviewed and placed on file.
Ald. Ford moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg, motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at lo:30 P.M.
