PWCommittee- MINUTES - 12/11/1972PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO 0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 11, 1972 The meeting was called to order at 9:00 P.M. Present were Aldermen Schaumberg, Ford, Foldy, Knudsen and Dumke, Mayor Gottfried and Supt. Bertram. Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeAngelis appeared to discuss vacating the Woods Road e@ right-of-way on which lies a portion of their barn. The committee re- affirmed its original decision to not recommend giving back the right-Of- way. Mr. Ray Wallner appeared to discuss the proposed location of the westerly Street "A" in the Mus-kee-quac planned development as well as the location of McShane Road. The committee took no action and asked Mr. Wallner to furnish a more detailed plan showing tInlocation of Street "A" on city property and an elevation showing the construction of the street :through the existing pond. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Common Council approve the rental of Herbert Thode's barn for the storage of Public Works equipment at $4.00 per unit per month through April 1st. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. 0 Supt. Bertram reported that he had not corrected the Bbeichrot drainage problem because of the onset of winter. Ald. Schaumberg moved to recommend payment of the bill from Frank J. Hoeffler in the amount of $105.00 for painting the Industrial Park sign. Seconded by Ald. Ford, motion carried. Ald. Schaumberg recommended that Supt. Bertram supervise the repair of a field drain which was broken by a sewer contractor on the Packowitz-property on Tess Corners Drive. Supt. Bertram registered his disapproval of the location of a "Yield" sign at the corner of Hedgewood and Southern Drives explaining that he felt that traffic on Hedgewood should yield to that on Southern Drive. Supt. Bertram reported that the resurfacing of Crowbar Road from Tans Drive to S.T.H. "24" had been completed. Ald. Foldy pointed out that drainage problems still exist on the lots south of Couture's office building. The matter was referred to Building 0 Inspector Lee. ' Correspondence was received from the Little Muskego Lake Association thanking the city, particularly Willard Bertram and his crew, for their assistance during the recent carp eradication project. The letter further commended Supt.sBertram for the upgrading of the Gold Drive Bridge. Mayor Gottfried mentioned that the School Board wishes to meet with a sub- committee of the Public Works Committee to discuss Bay Lane Road. Ald. l Schaumberg and Ald. Ford will make up the sub-committee. Ald. Schaumberg moved to adjourn at 12:00 Midnight. Seconded by Ald. Ford. Motion carried. Also present were Aldermen Foldy, Ford, & Knudsen. 1. Mr. Ray Wallner appeared to d:i:scuss the proposed location of westerly street “A” in the Mus-Kee-Guac planned development as well as the location of easterly street “8” and the relocation of McShane Road. Alderman Schaumberg moved to recommend that the Corenon Council indicate thelr willingness to agree to the following because of the benefits to the city to be derived by doing so: A.The relocation and dedication to the city of McShane Road. B.The proposed location of easterly street “B*’ subject to a commitment from property owners east of the proposed development and north of McShane Road that they have no ob- jections to street “B” entering into their property and a willingness to negotiate a firm contract relating to the necessary exchange of property. C.The proposed location of street “A” contingent on the following: 1. a 2* The city will dedicate the necessary land for street “A”. The city will deed approximately one acre of additional land east of street “A” to the developer for the purpose of creating buildable lake lots in exchange for which the developer shall pay the city the sum of $l,OOO.OO. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. The developer will construct street “A” in strict accordance with city specifications. The developer will install and bear the total cost of the necessary sewer and water along street “A”. The developer will create a grade to the west of street 8iAtV acceptable to the city engineer or its consulting engineers. The developer wi 11 provide sewer and water hook-ups at no cost to the city for any future municipal use within city lands adjacent to street “A”. If at a future date the city should decide to develop lots on its property adjacent to street “A” instead of using it for park purposes, the city will pay a proportionate share of the cost of sewer and water. Alderman Ford seconded the motion, motion carried. Ald. Ford moved to adjosirn at 9:45, seconded by Alderman Schaumberg, motion carried. RF/je
