0 MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JULY 9, 1970
Chairman Wollman called the meeting to order at 4:30 P.M. Also present
were Aldermen Burgenneister, DeBack, Supt. Bertram and Mayor Gottfried.
Mr. Hetzel appeared at the meeting relative to the city requiring a
permanent easement for cleaning the ditch running north and east of
l his property. Mr. Hetzel requested storm sewers but was informed
that costs prohibitive. &re
Committee will reconsider easement and
advise.
Mr. Joe Love appeared at the meeting to request that the city provide
a truck and man to aid in cleaning Jewel Creek from Linnie Lac Dam
to Jewel Crest Bridge.
Mr. William Schmidt appeared requesting permission to install 30' storm
sewer along his property on Richdorf Drive. The committee will view
the area for possible solutions.
Mr. Kneser from Payne and Dolan appeared to discuss the feasibility of
submitting an asphalt paving program for the present sealcoat method.

He presented the following facts: lOO# material per square yd.
compacted to 1" thick, 20 sq. yds. per ton at 6.34 per ton or 33~ per
square yd om 20 ft. roads would cost about 70 to 75~ per running foot.
This would cost approximately $4,000.00 per miles.
The following bids were received for the darainage culvert for the
Tess Corners Creek:

Ald. Burgermeister moved to recommend that the Council accept the low
bid of Brookfield Culvert, Inc. in the amount of $11,762.25. Seconded
by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried.

The following bids were received for a new highway truck, snow plow
and material spreader:
International Harvester Co. $ 12,975.oo
Badger Ford Trucks, Inc. 14,159.oo
Braeger Chevrolet, Inc. 14,494.oo
Ald. DeBack moved to recommend to the Council that the low bid of
International Harvester Co. in the amount of $12,975.00 be accepted.
Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried.
The following bids for a hydraulic sewer rodder were received:

Ald. Burgermeister moved to recommend to the Council that the low
bid of O'Brien Mfg. Co., Inc. in the amount of $4,040.00 be accepted.
Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried.

Aid. Burgermeister moved to recommend to the Council to accept the bid of
Kelbe Bros. Equip. Co., Inc. in the amount of $25,362.00. Seconded
by Ald. DeBaBk. Motion carried.
Ald. Burgermeister moved to release all monies owed to Schroeder
Plumbing Co. for work on sewers across Highway 24 to Dandilion Park.
Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion carried.
Ald. Burgermeister moved to recommend to the Council that the city

advertise for a City Engineer. Seconded by Aid. DeBack. Motion
carried.
Ald. DeBack moved to refer to the Safety Cosunittee to study and recommend
speed limits on roads in the city. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion
carried.
Supt. Bertram was requested to figure anticipated mileage on roads
that the committee would like to consider for 1" blacktop surface.
Ald. DeBack moved to adjourn. Seconded by Ald. Wollman. Motion
carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:35 P.M.
