PWCommittee - MINUTES - 5/8/1969PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 8, 1969 Chairman Budish called the meeting to order at 4:05 P.M. Present were Chairman Budish, Aldermen Wollman and DeBack, Supt. Bertram and City Engineer Kelsenberg. Communication received from Public Safety Committee regarding "No Parking" signs at the bridge on Muskego Dam Road. Ald. Wollman moved to request a legal opinion from City Attorney on parking cars on the pavement without "no Parking" signs. Seconded by Ald. DeBack, motion carried. Mr. Art Heiden appeared before the'committee in regard to damage done in front of his house by the Wis. Natural Gas Co. in installing gas mains on Muskego Dr. and damage done to the banks of the drainage ditch near his home. Supt. Bertram will contact Gas Co. to get problem corrected. The Public Works Committee requests that the Rules, Laws & Ordinance Committee contact the City Attorney regarding the drafting of an ordinance ghat utility companjres would have to comply with in order to do any work within the city. Ald. Wollman moved to grant permission to the Wis. Natural Gas Co. to install the following: 72 ft. of 2" H.P. main across C.T.H. "Y" to Bay Shore Dr. due to State Highway Project. 443 ft. of 2" H.P. main to serve Donald Miller at S72 W16424 Bell- view Dr. 4 ft. of 2" H.P. main Stubs on College Ave. due to State Highway Project. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. A communication was read that had been sent to W. A. Reinhardt, Division of Highways, from City Engineer in regard to vision corner on the stretch of road past Mr. Louis Ludwig. Application for employment for the Public Works Dept. was received from Howard Howard Henke, W187 S6944 Gold Dr. and placed on file. Bids on road materials were reviewed. Ald. DeBack moved to recommend to the Common Council to accept the low bid of Payne & Dolan at $6.34 per ton for bituminous paving. Seconded by Ald. Wollman, motion carried. Ald. DeBack moved to recommend to the Common Council to accept the low bid of Wolf Construction for sealcoating materials as follows: SC-O-5 furnished and applied $0.1625 per gallon MC-O-5 furnished and 0.1725 per gallon RC-O-5 furnished and applied 0.1750 per gallon Peneprime or tar, furnished and applied 0.2400 per gallon Slurry Seal furnished and applied 0.1950 per sq. yd. Pea Gravel furnished and applied, excess picked up 5.15 per ton Chips furnished and applied, excess picked up 5.40 per ton Seconded by Ald. Wollman, motion carried. Public Works Committee City of Muskego 518169 Page 2. Committee reviewed the proposal of getting excess gravel fill from the Highway "Y" Project in the vicinity of Dawson's pit. The Committee felt it would not recommend this to the Common Council. Ald. Wollman moved to recommend to the Finance Committee the purchase of a 1965 Ford Econ Van for $l,OOO.OO for use by the City Engineer. Seconded by Ald. DeBack. Motion carried. Supt. Bertram reported that the new College Ave. Highway Project on the property of Paul Kowalkowski will remove 20 to 24 pieces of privit hedge and a spreading yew. Ald.
