Public Works Committee Minutes - 5/15/2017 Unapproved CITY OF MUSKEGO PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES May 15, 2017 5:00 PM Aldermen’s Room – Upper Level of City Hall, W182 S8200 Racine Avenue CALL TO ORDER Alderman Madden called the meeting to order at 5:00 PM. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL Present: Alderman Eileen Madden, Alderman Neil Borgman, Alderman John Engelhardt, and City Engineer Mike Paulos. STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE The meeting was posted in accordance with the open meeting laws. APPROVAL OF MINUTES HELD MARCH 20, 2017 AND APRIL 24, 2017. Alderman Madden made a motion to approve the minutes of March 20, 2017 and April 24, 2017. Alderman Borgman seconded. Motion Passed 3 in favor. STATUS OF PROJECTS Discussion update. No formal action may be taken on any of the following: Moorland Road Reconstruction 2017 Road Program Racine Ave and Martin Drive Recreation Paths Middle School Water Main Project UNFINISHED BUSINESS Discussion update and possible action may be taken on any or all of the following: NEW BUSINESS Discussion update and possible action may be taken on any or all of the following: Approval of Public Improvements for 3 Lot CSM on Green Court Alderman Borgman made a motion to approve the Public Improvements for a 3 Lot CSM on Green Court. Alderman Engelhardt seconded. Motion Passed 3 in favor. Approval of License Agreement for Racine Avenue Recreational Trail Alderman Borgman made a motion to approve the License Agreement for Racine Avenue Recreational Trail. Alderman Engelhardt seconded. Motion Passed 3 in favor. Discussion of Janesville Road Recreation Trail Study Options/Costs Alderman Borgman made a motion to not move forward with the Janesville Road Recreation Trail Study Options/Costs at this time but may re-visit in the future. Alderman Engelhardt seconded. Motion Passed 3 in favor. Ald. Wolfe was present and requested this path be considered. Ald. Wolfe explained this path would safely connect the Fountainwood Subdivision with the trail system. Currently the residents have to walk 40 min to get to the trail. The Committee discussed the options and cost and felt that at this time it wouldn't be cost effective to put in a path that dead-ends, but possibly sometime in the future. Upon completion of review, staff will submit a supplement detailing options and possible course of action to committee members.)
