PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MONDAY SEPTEMBER 2, 2009
Alderman Snead called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Ald. Schneider and Ald.
Schaumberg present along with City Engineer David Simpson and Superintendent Wayne
Delikat.
Alderman Snead led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Laws on August 31, 2009.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF JULY 20, 2009
Ald. Schneider moved to approve the minutes of July 20, 2009. Seconded by Ald.
Schaumberg. Motion carried 3-0.
CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS SUPT. REPORT
City Engineer Simpson informed the Committee that the Road Program was done with the
exception of mill and overlay on Tess Corners from Woods Rd. to Janesville Rd.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Janesville Road Phase II – City Engineer Simpson informed the Committee that Waukesha
County has moved the project back one year while they secure federal funding which requires a
more in depth environmental assessment. The start date for this project is now 2012.

NEW BUSINESS
Review Refuse/Recycling Contract (City Engineer) – City Engineer Simpson explained some of
the changes that were made to the contract after reviewing it with all Departments. He will have
the City Attorney look over the contract before it is put out to bid.

COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY
LAW - City Engineer Simpson handed out the 30% Durham Drive Realignment Plans and

informed the Committee that a public hearing is scheduled for September 17 from 6:30 pm –
th
8:00 pm. (This meeting has since been changed to September 29 from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm)
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Schneider moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:30 p.m. Seconded by Ald. Schaumberg.
Motion carried 3-0.
