PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2009
Alderman Fiedler called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Ald. Snead and Ald. Borgman
present along with Superintendent Wayne Delikat, City Engineer David Simpson, Mayor
Johnson, Chief Geiszler and those per attached list.
Alderman Fiedler led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Laws on March 18, 2009.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF FEBRUARY 23, 2009
Ald. Borgman moved to approve the minutes of February 23, 2009. Seconded by Ald.
Snead. Motion carried 3-0.
CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS SUPT. REPORT
Superintendent Delikat informed the Committee that the final leaf pick up is almost complete.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Janesville Road Phase II – City Engineer Simpson informed the Committee that some houses
along Janesville Road will be taken down next month.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Request by Ald. Borgman to discuss drainage problems in Parkland Subdivision – Ald. Borgman
stated that he will pursue a public meeting with all of the Parkland Subdivision homeowners to
gauge public interest in this project.
NEW BUSINESS
Request by Superintendent Delikat for a new leaf pick-up machine – Superintendent Delikat
brought in the information on the new leaf pick-up machine. He is still looking for other quotes
and deferred this item to next month.
Request by Ald. Werner to reduce the speed limit from 25 mph to 15 mph along Lake Drive
from Michi Drive to Lannon Drive and install traffic control signs – Two residents that live in
the area of Lake Drive have submitted a petition requesting a reduction in the speed limit from
25 mph to 15 mph and more traffic control signs. Ald. Snead requested that Chief Geiszler look
into the stop/yield sign request for the next meeting. Ald. Snead moved to change the speed
limit on Lake Drive, from Michi Drive to Lannon Drive, from 25 mph to 15 mph.
Seconded by Ald. Borgman. Motion carried 3-0.

Approval of Engineering design services contract for the reconstruction of Durham Drive (from
McShane Drive to North Cape Road) – A request for proposals was sent to five qualified
Engineering firms to submit their proposals for the reconstruction of Durham Drive. All five
firms submitted proposals and were evaluated by a committee of Mayor Johnson, Jeff Muenkel,
Ald. Fiedler and David Simpson, based on the firms qualification, experience, work load, project
approach, effort and cost. City Engineer Simpson recommended awarding the design of this
project to Foth Infrastructure & Environment, LLC. Ald. Borgman moved to approve the
Agreement for Professional Services between the City of Muskego and Foth Infrastructure
& Environment, LLC in the amount of $150,000.00. Seconded by Ald. Snead. Motion
carried 3-0.
