PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2008
Alderman Fiedler called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Ald. Snead and Ald. Borgman
present along with City Engineer David Simpson.
Alderman Fiedler led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Laws on November 14, 2008.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF OCTOBER 20, 2008
Ald. Snead moved to approve the minutes of October 20, 2008. Seconded by Ald. Borgman.
Motion carried 3-0.
CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS SUPT. REPORT
City Engineer Simpson informed the Committee that Moorland Road lights are going up November
th
18. The water tower is scheduled to be complete by January 2009.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Janesville Road Phase II – Nothing new.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Request by Ald. Borgman to discuss drainage problems in Parkland Subdivision – The estimated
cost for repairing the ditch from the culvert that exits behind W168 S7262 Parkland Drive to
Briargate Lane and to install a 21 inch culvert between S73 W16834 Briargate Lane and S73
W16802 Briargate Lane in the outlots is approximately $15,000.00. Ald. Borgman suggested that
the City expand the scope of the project. This item is deferred until Superintendent Delikat is back
next month.
Request by Ald. Schaefer for a no parking sign at the entrance to Lake Meadows Subdivision –
Ald. Fiedler informed the Committee that Ald. Schaefer requested this item be removed from the
agenda pending informal resolutions.
No Parking sign on Wentland Drive – Ald. Borgman stated that he will work with Superintendent
Delikat to remove an existing sign that should not have been placed.
Written agreement regarding Hillside Drive Project – City Engineer Simpson sent out the new
agreement to the property owners involved. Five of the eight property owners signed the
agreement. The Committee feels comfortable to go ahead and finish the project.
NEW BUSINESS
Revisions to Chapters 29 & 34 of the Municipal Code – City Engineer Simpson stated that the DNR
is requiring the City to rewrite the Erosion Control and Storm Water Management Ordinances. He
recommends approval of an ordinance to repeal and recreate Chapters 29 & 34 of the City of
Muskego Municipal Code.

Ald. Borgman suggested that Public Works make up a schedule for leaf pick-up. He will discuss
this with Superintendent Delikat.

Ald. Snead moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:20 p.m. Seconded by Ald. Borgman. Motion
carried 3-0.
