PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2007
Alderman Borgman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Ald. Noah Fiedler and Ald.
Tracy Snead present along with City Engineer David White, Public Works Superintendent
Wayne Delikat, and those per attached list.
Alderman Borgman led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Laws on September 21, 2007.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF AUGUST 20, 2007
Ald. Snead moved to approve the minutes of August 20, 2007. Seconded by Ald. Fiedler.
Motion carried 3-0.
CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS SUPT. REPORT
City Engineer White stated that there was nothing new to discuss.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Janesville Road Phase II – City Engineer White stated that they are surveying to get the base
information.
Traffic Issues – Racine Ave and Hillendale Dr – City Engineer White stated that work was
started September 26, 2007.
Tess Corners Box Culvert Project – City Engineer White informed the Committee that work is
being finished and the road is scheduled to be opened on Monday, October 1, 2007.
Industrial Park Stormwater Alternatives – City Engineer White informed the Committee that he
met with R&M who is finishing the draft report and the City is expecting their results next
month.
Speed table installation on Muskego Dr. – City Engineer White informed the Committee that the
speed tables were modified.
Tess Corners Creek Stream bed stabilization – City Engineer White stated that there is nothing to
report. The project is still being designed.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Speed Study on Prospect from Sunny Hill to Westlyn Drive – City Engineer White informed the
Committee that the Police Department will do another speed study in October after completing
the speed study on S. Denoon Road.

Road Work Hillside Drive – R&M finished their design and bids were opened September 20,
2007, with Payne and Dolan being the low bidder at $61,425.00. The bid amount was more than
the $40,000.00 budgeted for the project, therefore, a special assessment might have to be levied
against the residents affected by this project. Ald. Fiedler moved to have City Engineer White
prepare a preliminary resolution declaring intent to levy special assessments for the
Common Council. Seconded by Ald. Snead. Motion carried 3-0. Ald Fiedler moved to
reject bids as presented. Seconded by Ald. Snead. Motion carried 3-0.
Discuss Center Drive Extension to Lake – Ald. Borgman stated that the residents have not come
forward with a proposal.
Speed Study South Denoon Road – City Engineer White stated that the Police Department will
do another speed study on this road after the road paving work is complete.
Request by Ald. Pavelko to reconsider storm sewer installation at W155 S7652 Raintree Court –
This item is deferred until plans are received from the resident.
Discuss Little Muskego Lake Draw Down – Draw down will begin October 16, 2007. The lake
will be lowered one foot over a period of 10 days.
Discussion Hardtke Drive drainage ditch – A camera was run through the 18” pipes and found
debris plugging one of the pipes. The pipe was cleared.
NEW BUSINESS
Request from Ald. Schaefer to discuss Radish property at S102 W20650 Kelsey Dr. – Ald. Snead
suggested that the Committee research the problem further and bring this item back next month.
Request from Ald. Schaefer for No Parking signs on Settlement Ct., at Woods Rd. – Ald.
Schaefer informed the Committee that students from Muskego High School are parking on the
roadway. Ald. Fieder moved to install the No Parking signs. Seconded by Ald. Snead.
Motion carried 3-0.
