PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2007
Alderman Borgman called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. with Ald. Noah Fiedler and Ald.
Tracy Snead present along with City Engineer David White, Public Works Superintendent
Wayne Delikat, City Administrator Jennifer Sheiffer, and those per attached list.
Alderman Borgman led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance.
The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Laws on October 12, 2007.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF SEPTEMBER 26, 2007
Ald. Fiedler moved to approve the minutes of September 26, 2007. Seconded by Ald.
Snead. Motion carried 3-0.
CITY ENGINEER/PUBLIC WORKS SUPT. REPORT
City Engineer White stated that there was nothing new to discuss. Superintendent Delikat
informed the Committee that leaf pick up will begin October 22, 2007.
STATUS OF PROJECTS
Janesville Road Phase II – City Engineer White stated that the county completed their surveying
and they have taken test boring along the highway.
Traffic Issues – Racine Ave and Hillendale Dr. – City Engineer White stated that this project is
under construction.
Tess Corners Box Culvert Project – City Engineer White informed the Committee that the box
culvert is complete.
Industrial Park Stormwater Alternatives – City engineer White informed the Committee that
R&M finished their draft study and had 2 alternatives that were most effective. The next step
would be to determine where the money for this project would come from. Mayor Johnson
suggested that the City have a public information hearing in January 2008.
Tess Corners Creek Stream bed stabilization – City Engineer White stated that this project is in
the design stage.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Speed Study on Prospect from Sunny Hill to Westlyn Drive – City Engineer White informed the
Committee that the Police Department will do a speed study on this road after they finish the
speed study on S. Denoon Rd.
Road Work Hillside Drive – City Engineer White informed the Committee that they need to
determine which properties are involved and create a special assessment district.

Discuss Center Drive Extension to Lake – Ald. Borgman stated that there is nothing new.
Speed Study South Denoon Road – City Engineer White stated that the Police Department are in
the process of doing another speed study.
Request by Ald. Pavelko to reconsider storm sewer installation at W155 S7652 Raintree Court –
The resident has not submitted a plan. This item is deferred until plans are received from the
resident.
Discuss Little Muskego Lake Draw Down – Draw down will begin October 16, 2007 at 8:00
a.m. The lake will be lowered one foot over a period of 10 days.
Request from Ald. Schaefer to discuss Radish property at S102 W20650 Kelsey Dr. – City
Engineer White informed the Committee that he found a plan to drain the property with the
installation of a pipe. Ald. Fiedler recommended that the City install the pipe if Mr. Radish
purchases the pipe. Ald. Fiedler also recommended that Mr. Radish talk to his Alderman and
come back to the Committee next month with his decision.
NEW BUSINESS
Discuss Little Muskego Lake Dam Repair – City Engineer White recommended that the City
obtain easement rights to maintain and reconstruct spillway on the Lemke property by
condemnation. Ald. Fiedler moved to accept recommendation from City Engineer White
with the exception that they will come back if it will exceed $6,000.00 for easement
acquisition over and above the $14,000.00 budgeted for construction. Seconded by Ald.
Snead. Motion carried 3-0.
Review and action on plans for Mystic Drive extension – City Engineer White informed the
Committee that the extension would start at Harvest Ct. and extend 1,000 feet south ending with
a temporary cul de sac. Ald. Fiedler moved to approve the extension contingent upon plans
being revised from comments by the City Engineer. Seconded by Ald. Snead. Motion
carried 3-0.

Ald. Snead moved to adjourn the meeting at 6:22 p.m. Seconded by Ald. Fiedler. Motion
carried 3-0.
