Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 10/5/2006 approved CITY OF MUSKEGO PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MINUTES OF SPECAIL MEETING HELD THURSDAY OCTOBER 5, 2006 Alderman Buckmaster called the meeting to order at 6:09 PM with Ald. Bob Melcher present along with Engineering/Building Inspection Director Sean McMullen. Alderman Buckmaster led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. The meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting Law on September 2, 2006. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF August 14, 2006 – Ald. Melcher made one spelling th correction to the last page under approval of St. Paul’s 150 banner installations. Ald. Melcher moved to approve the corrected minutes of August 14, 2006. Seconded by Ald. Melcher. Motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS Approval of Weatherwood Court subdivision entryway – Director McMullen explained the developer of the Weatherwood Court subdivision has requested approval to install an entrance sign to the subdivision. Director McMullen suggested requiring a bond for financial security from the developer until all construction and land disturbing has been completed and the area restored. Director McMullen noted there are no issues with vision corners and mailboxes will not be installed in this area. Ald. Melcher moved to approve the installation of the proposed entrance sign including the incidental landscaping for the Weatherwood Court Subdivision with a financial security deposit equal to the proposed improvement amount being filed with the City of Muskego, and that all construction and landscaping work be completed by no later than December 15, 2006. Seconded by Ald. Buckmaster. Motion carried 2-0. Approval of Golden Country Estates Subdivision sign located in the right of way – Director McMullen explained he has received a request from the Golden Country Estates Subdivision to replace their old entrance sign. The proposed sign would replace the existing sign and will be made of solid brick masonry. This subdivision has been helpful and cooperative with the City during the Janesville Road construction project and Director McMullen has no issues with approving this request. Ald. Melcher moved to approve the installation of the proposed entrance sign including the incidental landscaping for the Golden Country Estates Subdivision. Seconded by Ald. Buckmaster. Motion carried 2-0. COMMUNICATION AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW. Ald. Melcher requested the following be added to the next agenda:  Stop sign on Sunny Hill Drive  Roadway drainage on Hillview  Speed study on Prospect from Sunny Hill to Weslyn Public Works Committee Page 2 October 5, 2006 ADJOURNMENT Ald.
