Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 10/14/2003 APPROVED SPECIAL PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE MEETING - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2003 Acting Chairman Ald. Chris Buckmaster called the meeting to order at 6:35 PM. Present was committee member Ald. Eileen Madden. Also present were Engineering/Building Inspection Director Sean McMullen, and Ald. Eric Schroeder. Chairman Ald. Nancy Salentine was excused. Acting Chairman Buckmaster led those present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Acting Chairman Buckmaster noted that the meeting was posted in accordance with the Open Meeting Law. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Ald. Madden moved to approve the minutes of the meeting held September 22, 2003. Seconded by Ald. Buckmaster, motion carried 2-0. NEW BUSINESS Request for approval of early start grading and soil erosion for Lindale Estates Engineering/Building Inspection Director McMullen presented to the committee the request for approval of an early start grading and soil erosion permit for Lindale Estates. After discussion with Director McMullen, Ald. Madden moved to approve the construction plans and issuance of early start permits for grading, drainage and soil erosion permits subject to engineering review. Seconded by Ald. Buckmaster, motion carried 2-0. Request for a streetlight in Plum Creek Subdivision on Providence Way and Janesville Road (Ald. Schroeder) Engineering/Building Inspection Director McMullen presented to the committee Ald. Schroeder’s request to approve a streetlight in Plum Creek Subdivision on Providence Way and Janesville Road. Director McMullen advised the committee that he felt that the streetlight is warranted at that location and requests that the City authorize the installation of that streetlight which will result in a cost to the City of $12.00 to $18.00 per month. WE Energies will pay for the installation. Director McMullen also noted that the installation of this streetlight should have been addressed in the Developer’s Agreement but was overlooked by staff in its finalization. Ald. Madden moved to approve authorization of the streetlight installation on Providence Way and Janesville Road. Seconded by Ald. Buckmaster, motion carried 2-0. It was noted that the request is to place it in the median and although the typical location would be on the southeast corner, Director McMullen stated it would not be a problem to have it placed in the median.
