The Committee reviewed elimination of silt traps for the Lake Forest Development. Mr. Bill Painter of Painter & Associates appeared before the Committee. Correspondence from the City Engineers dated May 25, 1993, stated that they agree that the silt traps are a hazard to the building residents; they are not properly fenced, they are steep and deep; and they apparently never adequately functioned as sedimentation basins. The Committee concurs with the City Engineers recommendation that the storm sewers should be completed as per sheet 14 of 33 provided that the Little Muskego Lake Association and the DNR approve their elimination and that adequate safeguards are provided to prevent sedimentation downstream from pond 1.
