Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 2/28/1991PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 20, 1991 The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Chairman Dumke. Also present were Committee Member Simmons, Ald Patterson and Public Works Superintendent Loughney. Superintendent Loughney reported that the drainage creek from the pond that is intended to be excavated in Lincoln Point Estates shows evidence of erosion. The Committee determined that the Developer has a responsibility to improve the drainage ditch. Mayor Salentine will contact Mr. Joseph Lamb, who is the owner of the property where the drainage creek is located, for the purpose of receiving his input. Action was deferred for Bay Lawn-South Subdivision due to the lack of receiving plans which contain a storm sewer system. An inter-office memorandum was reviewed which advised that the Schultz Lane Road Project will be advertised for bidding on March 7 and March 14; the bids will be open on March 21, 1991, and will be reviewed at the Public Works Committee meeting scheduled for March 28, 1991. If bid is acceptable, it will be awarded at the April 9, 1991 Common Council meeting. The status for the application for grant funding for the Little Muskego Lake Dam was reviewed and the Committee is requesting Ald. Taube to contact Mr. Hammon to determine his interest in the project. The Comittee would also like a report from Ald. Taube on the status of the property owners affected by the Dam Inspection project. The Committee reviewed correspondence providing a $3,000.00 cost for a storm drainage study of the area in the southwest quarter of Section 10 that drains to the northwest corner of Woods Road and Bay Lane. The Committee directed the Mayor to meet with the landowner proposing development on his land to make the landowner aware of the costs. The Committee reviewed correspondence from Ruekert & Mielke dated February 21, 1991, which requested an evaluation of the condition of the existing roof on the Public Works Garage. It was determined that specificiations for repair should be included when bidding the Public Works Garage addition. A discussion was held with Ald. Patterson on correspondence received from Tony Migliaccio, W132 S6598 Saroyan Road, requesting a concrete invert. The Public Works Committee was not receptive to the request because the City of Muskego's policy does not include putting in storm drainage or concrete inverts on rear property lines. Public Works Committee - Page 2 February 28, 1991 supt. Loughney advised that the cost of the road striping machine, which was a Capital Budget approved item, is $21,976.00. The Committee recommended approval of the purchase. The Committee reviewed revised storm drainage and road plans for the College Square development. The plans incorporated suggested revisions from the City Engineers. The Committee approved the revised plans. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P.M. Respectfully submitted, Ald. William T. Simmons Secretary
