Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 2/23/1989PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
INFORMATION MEETING NOTES - FEBRUARY 23, 1989
7:00 P.M.
Present: Mayor Salentine, Ald. Sanders, Supt. John Loughney, and City Engineer Todd Weik.
Engineer Weik explained to affected property owners the proposed
drainage work to be done in the Tess Corners Gaulke Drive & Woods Road North area. This work will be partially funded by a Root
River Watershed grant. Besides removal of specific trees, the
stream banks will be manicured. The Public Works Department will
offer cut wood to City residents within close vicinity of the project. The project is expected to be done during the Summer of
1989 when drainage ditch is low. Only those areas which have a severe erosion problem will be altered, including the
installation of rip rap. The bottom of the stream will not be
altered by dredging or digging, only the banks will be reshaped
to eliminate erosion. All dirt excavated will have to be hauled away from the work site under existing permits. Every
landowner's signature will be required by the Soil Conservation Service before the work commences. This project will take 30 to
40 days.
Mr. Tom Dahlmann submitted bill for work that he did on the
Diekfuss/Dahlmann ditch. This bill will be discussed at the
March meeting.
It was noted that Lynn Kurer will pay the $75.00 for the cost of
rezoning property on Durham Drive and Schultz. Lane.
Proposed roadway and storm sewer plans for Parkland South
Extended were reviewed. Mayor Salentine and Superintendent Loughney requested that plans be submitted to the Parks h
Recreation Board for their review and the possible extension of
the road to the City's park property.
It was noted that quotes will have to be obtained for the Little Muskego Lake Dam Alarm per DNR requirements. The alarm system
will indicate high water level of the lake.
