PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 28, 1987
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Chairman Dumke. Also present were Ald. Taube, Mayor Salentine, Supt. Bertram and
those per the attached sheet. Ald. Sanders was absent.
The Committee discussed the proposed Schuler development on Lake Denoon regarding road dedication for East Shore Drive. The
Committee determined that a road dedication would not be
required. Ald. Taube moved to recommend that the curb and
gutters not be required subject to the Lake Denoon Association's
agreeing with this proposal. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried.
Mrs. Brunner appeared before the Committee requesting that her
correspondence of May 4, 1987, be reviewed. The Committee
reviewed the aformentioned correspondence and placed on file.
Mrs. Rrunner requested that the public record show that the
purpose of the SEWRPC study was not to determine lake level
heights.
Mr. Don Miles appeared before the Committee to discuss the road
repair on East Shore Drive. Since it is a private drive, the residents will be billed for the cost that the Public Works
Department incurs for making the asphalt repair. supt. Bertram
will provide a cost and Mr. Miles will secure signatures from the
property owners involved agreeing to the cost.
The Committee was made aware that the Pellmann property was not
restored as agreed because of bad weather conditions.
The Committee reviewed the funding of Urban Drainage Projects and
determined that a means of prioritizing the projects must be
developed. The following established guidelines will be
incorporated into a policy:
1. Ditches on City Property will have high priority.
2. Size of the Watershed that the ditches serves.
3. Is a major subdivision a contributing source
to the ditch?
4. The condition of the ditch (the worst condition will receive first priority).
5. The amount of cost sharing by benefitted properties.
6. Is the ditch resulting in large flooding?

The Committee discussed drainage problem in Parkland
Subdivision. Ald. Dumke moved to notify all owners in the
subdivision of the City's interest in solving water drainage
problem in creek that runs through the subdivision and assessing
all property owners.
The Committee discussed the repair to the fence which is adjacent
to the Radetscher property between Field Drive EL Tans Drive and
determined that Supt. Bertram will contact Mr. Badertscher and
take care of the repair.
