Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 3/6/19860 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 6, 1986 The meeting was called to order at 7 00 P.M. by Chairman DeAngelis. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and Tomczyk, Ald. Taube, Superintendent Bertram, and Mr. Joe Smukowski. The Committee reviewed TIF projects. Superintendent Bertram advised the Committee that the City Engineers had received favorable test results back from water main samples at the Industrial Park. He further informed the Committee of the water freezing in the hydrants. It was determined that anti-freeze will be used in the hydrants. The Committee discussed the Urban Drainage Policy relating to a few of the drainage ditches on city-owned property. The Committee agreed that all city-owned property will have top priority. Ald. Taube advised the Committee that he is working with the City Engineers on obtaining costs for installing curbs and gutters on Ann Drive. It appears that installing curbs and gutters would be the most economical way. Superintendent Bertram reminded the Committee that the present road is 50' wide and the Highway Width 0 Map shows the proposed road to be 60' wide which would require a 5' road dedication on each side. The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and placed them on file. Mr. Smukowski appeared before the Committee to discuss a drainage problem on Thode Drive. Superintendent Bertram and Ald. DeAngelis will view the problem along with Mr. Smukowski and recommend a solution. Superintendent Bertram advised the Committee of the results of bids obtained through the Waukesha County Public Works Association.The low bid for the Pick-Up Truck was from John Lynch Chevrolet for $9,245.21 and the low bid for the Patrol Truck was from Badger Truck Center, Inc. for $49,166.00. Ald. Hilt moved to recommend Council approval. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. A discussion was held regarding purchasing hip boots and rain gear for the Public Works Department. Ald. DeAngelis stated that he had observed the men working in the inclement weather and felt the purchase of boots and rain gear should be made. Ald. DeAngelis moved to recommend Council approval. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, motion carried. 0 The Committee discussed the maintenance of Arterial Signals. Superintendent Bertram will contact the City Clerk for the exact account number.
