Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 6/5/19860 PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 5, 1986
The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by Acting Chairman
Hilt. Also present were Committee Member Sanders, Highway
Superintendent Bertram, Frank Narlock and Stan Potrykus. Committee Chairman DeAngelis was absent.
The Public Works Committee advised Mr. Frank Narlock that he
would be required to donate a parcel of land to provide a right-
of-way from Hwy. Y to Field Drive on his development known as
Lakeview Hills Subdivision. Mr. Narlock will confer with the
Building Inspection Office to determine the exact location of the
road from the preliminary plat of that property.
Ald. Sanders moved to recommend approval of a plan proposed by
Stan Potrykus to create a ditch on Woods Road which would direct
drainage water down Freedom Avenue in the Durhamswood
Subdivision.
Highway Superintendent Bertram stated that the Thode Drive
Drainage project will be completed during the construction
season.

The Committee discussed the storm drainage area on the Pelmann Superintendent Bertram stated that the peat-like ground
from the adjacent sewer project was used as fill and remains spongy and unworkable near the lake area. He said that the
Public Works Department will attempt to correct the situation to
the satisfaction of Mr. and Mrs. Pellmann.
The Committee discussed setting bond and route for the Lekfield
request. Superintendent Bertram recommended the use of Crowbar
Road due to its sound condition and setting the amount of bond at
$50,000. Ald. Sanders moved to approve. Seconded by Ald. Hilt,
motion carried.
The Committee reviewed communication from Highway Commissioner
Bolte regarding Racine Avenue & Sunset indicating that the County has reviewed the sketch submitted by Ald. DeAngelis dated October
10, 1985, and their position remains the same now as then.
The disposition of a large boulder which is prominently displayed on the Industrial site was discussed at considerable length and
it was decided that unless an esthetic use can be found for the
above mentioned boulder, it will be unceremoniously interred.
A discussion of three small park-like areas known as Evon, Eton
and Avon, which abut Parkland Drive, was held. Ald. Sanders
moved to direct the Public Works Department to install a two foot
a invert in the ditch line to improve the natural drainage and to aid the citizens who have traditionally maintained these areas to control the weed growth.

Superintendent Bertram informed the Committee that a base coat of
asphalt has been applied to Pellmann Lane by the Public Works
Department and that about a 40 ft. area still remains to be
completed. The Committee recommended that the City Attorney review the necessary quit-claim deed for a 20 x 60 ft extension
on Pellmann Lane.
