Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 12/18/1986PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD DECEMBER 18, 1986 The meeting was called to order at 7:05 P.M. by Chairman DeAngelis. Also present were Committee Members Hilt, Supt. Bertram and those per the attached list. Ald. Sanders was absent. Further discussion of the drainage plans for Durhamswood Subdivision was held with Stan Potrykus and Bob Klenz. The final grade map of the project determined that concrete inverts will not be necessary from Settler Way to Indian Trail, but will be installed, as necessary, from Freedom Drive east on Settlers Way. All sump pumps will flow to the rear of the properties unless otherwise specified and the drainage plans will be amended to define the swale to the north. Mrs. Arline Kopshe appeared before the Committee to request that the drainage ditch in the Glenbrook Subdivision be filled. The Chairman of the Committee informed Mrs. Kopshe that the drainage ditch cannot be filled and recommended that Supt. Bertram talk to Mr. Washburn (W149 S6550 Spring Drive) and Mr. Hetzel (W149 S6580 Spring Drive) and attempt to acquire easements to clean the entire ditch. Supt. Bertram is to report back to the February meeting. 0 The Committee reviewed the following quotes received for the sale of top soil in the Industrial Park: Fredricks Soil Co., Inc. 35 per yard Western Landscape Con. 25 per yard t The Committee recommended to Finance Committee rejection of all quotes. The Committee reviewed drainage and road plans for Meadow Green Subdivision with Mr. Gregory Boehm. Supt. Bertram will review the drainage map with the engineers and report back to the Committee. The Committee reviewed TIF projects and Chairman DeAngelis moved to have a railing installed on the north side of Woods Road near the Switala ditch. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. supt. Bertram will determine cost of railing and report at next meeting. The Committee continued review of the Urban Drainage policy. The Committee discussed correspondence from New Berlin dated December 2, 1986, stating that SEWRPC suggests that other communities might be interested in joining with New Berlin to prepare stormwater management plans so as to result in a complete plan for the entire watershed. supt. Bertram will contact New Berlin and report back to the Committee. Public Works Committee - Page 2 December 18, 1986 A request for release of funds for the Marlan Meadows Subdivision was discussed. The Committee agreed to release $36,573.00 and to retain $4,927.00 for final restoration of the retention pond and minor road surfacing. The Committee reviewed correspondence from the City Engineers regarding the Industrial Park Street Construction Project. The Engineers are notifying the contractor, Payne & Dolan, Inc., that there remains one abrupt joint in the Mercury Drive pavement just south of Gemini Drive. This area was not wedged when the sanitary sewer manholes were wedged earlier this Fall. The engineers are requesting that this area be wedged before more snow plowing is done.
