Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 5/23/1985PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MAY 23, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Chairman DeAngelis at 7:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and Tomczyk, Mayor Salentine, Supt. Bertram, Harold Diekfuss and Harold DeBack. The Committee reviewed TIF projects and Supt. Bertram advised the Committee of the status of the ditch at St. Paul's. Supt. Bertram also discussed the possible purchase of a street sweeper under TIF. He would be receiving a demo in June. The Committee discussed the easement on the Herdeman property. Ald. Tomczyk moved to recommend to the Council that the city proceed by Public Domain to obtain proper easements. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried with Ald. DeAngelis casting the only opposing vote. The Committee again reviewed resurfacing Bay Lane and Kurtze Lane roads (Bass Bay Area). The Committee felt the storm drainage could be taken care of through TIF. The Committee recommended to Council that they authorize relocation of Kurtze Lane. Ald. Hilt moved that the road be improved. motion carried. Seconded by Ald. Tomczyk, The Committee reviewed bids for the 1985 Road Improvement Program and recommended Council approval of the low bids received from C IX K Liquid Asphalt for the seal coating - Asphalt emulsions MAC-5 $.96 per gal., HFE-90 S.74 per gallon and Aggregate for Sealcoating $7.65 per ton; and Payne & Dolan for the low bid on bituminous asphalt of Grade 1 (Base Course) $22.07 per ton and Grade 3 (Surface Course) $23.86 per ton. Seconded by Ald. Penovich, motion carried. The Committee reviewed Capital Budget item - Small Grader. supt. Bertram advised the Committee of the varied costs of different graders and asked the Committee to defer action until a later date. The Committee reviewed the minutes of previous meeting and placed them on file. Ald. Tomczyk moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:30 P.M. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried.
