Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 3/7/1985PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD MARCH 7, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Chairman Penovich at 9:05 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and DeAngelis, Mayor Salentine, Superintendent Bertram, Stanley Potrykus, Wil Vidal and Jan Knapp. Wil Vidal presented his views on Jewel Creek Rehabilitation Project which recently received a grant of $54,000 from the State. The Department of Natural Resources will inspect the project on March 15th and report back as to what work is to be done on soil erosion, etc. Easements will have to be secured from abutting property owners. Project should start this Spring. There will be three phases. Phase I will be from College Avenue to the dam on Jewel Creek. Mr. Vidal is requesting assistance of the Public Works Department. The Little Muskego Lake Association will supply necessary monies for this assistance. The City Engineers will tour the area to ascertain cost of preparing plans for this project. /Mr. Potrykus appeared in regard to curbs, gutters and storm sewers for the Oschmann property. Ala. DeAngelis moved to waive I 0 m the requirement of curbs, gitters and storm sewers conditioned on Mr. Potrykus showing evidence to the City Engineers that ditches would not prove as drainage problem for subdivision or area. Seconded by Ala. Penovich, motion carried unanimously. The Committee reviewed correspondence from Building Inspector regarding the escrow account for Guernsey Meadows-Addn. #I. The Committee will contact ,the Building Inspector to secure more information. The Committee discussed the Highway 24 takeover. It was decided that the City was not interested in taking over Highway 24 at this time. The Committee discussed the traffic problem on Durham Drive (Tess Corners School). No action will be taken at this time. The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting. The Committee reviewed TIF projects. Superintendent Bertram reported ,L bhat the cost of gravel for Schultz Lane is approximately $3,461.00 for 10 inches of gravel for 1200 sq. ft. This cost will be absorbed by the people on Schultz Lane. The City will grade the roads. The Committee held a general discussion of grading and gravel filling of portions of Bass Bay, Kurtze Lane, Sandy Beach Rd. and Sobek Lane. The meeting adjourned at 11:00 P.M.
