Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 6/20/1985PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 20, 1985 The meeting was called to order by Chairman DeAngelis at 8:OO P.M. Also present were Committee Members Tomczyk and Hilt, and Superintendent Bertram. The Committee discussed drainage areas of Old & New Industrial Park. Mr. Harold DeBack agreed to give the City an easement to clean the ditch (drainage creek) from Mercury to Racine Avenue. The Committee reviewed entrance road to Bass Bay Subdivision. The Committee discussed policy to clean ditches. The Committee felt a priority system must be set up to accommodate all concerned. The Committee deferred action to a a future date. The Committee discussed the culverts on Redman Drive with Superintendent Bertram. The Committee suggested that Ald. Hilt and Ald. Tomczyk look over the problem area to see if a solution can be found. The Committee discussed storm sewer or invert installation on a city park off of Kingston Drive. The Committee authorized Superintendent Bertram to handle problem. The Committee discussed retention area - Marlan Meadows. Superintendent Bertram will get in touch with the Engineer, Roger Johnson, and determine how the area should be graded. Superintendent Bertram advised the Committee that an invert would be the best solution to handle a drainage problem in the ditch on Bay Shore Drive and Shore Lane. The Committee will check the problem area and discuss at July meeting. Recent damage to Ingersoll Cable on Kirstin Drive and Janesville Road was discussed and Supt. Bertram was authorized by the Committee to contact Mr. Ingersoll and review the possible negligence of the City's maintenance crew vs the negligence of Ingersoll on initial installation. The Committee reviewed the minutes of the previous meeting and placed them on file. The Committee reviewed the plans for the Water Utility Tower. Public Works Committee - Page 2 June 20, 1985 Superintendent Bertram advised the Committee of brush that had been cut by a property owner and thrown onto City land. Ald. Tomczyk recommended that the Committee have a registered letter sent to the property owner advising him that he has 10 days to remove the brush from City property or the Department of Public Works will remove the brush and the charges will be put on the property owner's taxes.
