MINUTES OF MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 21, 1985
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Penovich at
8:00 P.M. Also present were Committee Members Hilt and DeAngelis, Mayor Salentine, Superintendent Bertram and Mr. Stanley Potrykus.
Mr. Potrykus submitted a sketch for the proposed development of the Oschmann property. The proposed sketch as submitted contains a request for 39 lots and Mr. Potrykus wants the City to waive
the requirement of community well, curbs, gutters and storm sewers for this proposed Subdivision. Only 13 of the 39 lots will be developed at this time. The Public Works Committee instructed
Mr. Potrykus to take his sketch to the Plan Commission to request
the elimination of curbs and gutters storm sewers and water since this is under Plan Commission jurisdiction.
Mr. Heckel did not appear to discuss the snow problem on North
Shore Drive.
Ald. DeAngelis presented complaints of Mr. Clark Chiaverotti,
S104 W20730 Cindy Drive, and Mr. DeLeeuw, W205 S10343 Cindy Court
in regard to the use of the front end loader to remove snow from
Lake Meadow Subdivision. Mr. Chiaverotti feels that there is sod
damage on his property. Superintendent Bertram indicated he will make necessary repairs in the Spring.
The Committee discussed the traffic problem on Durham Drive Cress
Corners School). A request has been received to move the fence
on Durham Drive east approximately 5 to 10 feet onto the school
property in order to provide a walking area for pedestrians and bike riders. Superintendent Bertram will contact the
Superintendent of Schools to discuss this problem.
The Committee reviewed TIF projects. Superintendent Bertram read
correspondence from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural
Resources, regarding Tess Corners Creek Channelization Project.
Superintendent Bertram reported on correspondence received from
Racine County Land Conversation Office regarding Root River
Watershed which states that we are eligible for cost-share assistance in the amount of $46,200.
Superintendent Bertram reported that the water pump in the well at the Municipal Garage is now repaired.
Ald. DeAngelis moved to recommend to Council that the Kurtze Lane Road Project be let for bids when the DNR approval is received.

The Mayor reported that the DNR has been contacted and is
anticipating being able to process the Kurtze Lane Road plans
within two weeks.
