Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 8/9/1984PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGO MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 9, 1984 The meeting was called to order at 8:07 P.M. by Chairman Penovich. Also present were Committee Members DeAngelis and Hilt, Superintendent Bertram, Stan Potrykus and Mayor Salentine. The Committee discussed the asphalting of the Lake Meadows Roads and sign regulations with Mr. Stan Potrykus, the developer. Superintendent Bertram recommended the acceptance of Roads for Lake Meadows. Ald. DeAngelis moved to accept the roads and to recommend to Finance Committee to authorize the release of funds to First Bank of Milwaukee for $57,491.37 to Lang Engineering co. Seconded by Ald. Penovich, motion carried. The Committee discussed the Tess Corners-Gaulke Drive Drainage Project. Ald. Hilt moved to recommend authorization for Ruekert & Mielke to prepare plans. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried. The Committee discussed Roman Volz Drainage problem which he claims is a result of the installation of Cable. Ald. Nilsson will contact Mr. Volz and report back to Superintendent Bertram. The Kurtze Lane Road Project was discussed. The Committee noted correspondence received from the Department of Justice indicating that the required easement for storm drainage was not approved. The Committee noted that this will delay the bidding of the road project. The Committee discussed roads to be seal-coated. Superintendent Bertram discussed seal-coating seven to eight miles of roads at a cost of $6,500.00 a mile, using a 24 ft. road width. The roads being considered for this seal-coating at the present time are: Westwood Drive, South Lannon Drive, Pioneer Drive, Lions Park Drive, Tans Drive, East Tower Drive, Crowbar Drive (North of Wauer Lane), Groveway Lane, and Muskego Dam Road (East of Kelsey Drive). The Committee discussed the storm sewers on Highway 24 (Tire Shop and St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church). Superintendent Bertram will send a letter to the County Highway Department regarding these two culverts under Highway 24. The Committee reviewed quotations on one tractor and two mowers. Superintendent Bertram recommended the purchase of two Woods mowers from Tractor Loader Sales, Inc., Box 1484, Waukesha, WI 53187, in the amount of $6,094.00, with the optional 3 point hitch stabilizer bar at $142.00, and one International Harvester 584 Tractor for $9,568.00. Ald. Penovich moved to accept the bid of Tractor Loader Sales, Inc., for the mower and two tractors. Seconded by Ald. Hilt, motion carried.
