Public Works Committee - MINUTES - 6/23/1983PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE - CITY OF MUSKEGC
MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JUNE 23, 1983
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 P.M. by Chairman
Penovich. Also present were Committee Members DeAngelis and
Dumke, Mayor Salentine, Supt. Bertram, Ald. Tomczyk, Mr.
Switala and his son.
Mr. Switala appeared at the meeting concerning his drainage
ditch and the land north of Woods Rd. He stated he has no
objection to the City cleaning the ditch provided he would
receive the trees and the excess dirt. supt. Bertram will
view the site to determine if the City has the proper equip-
ment available to complete the project, and will advise the Committee at the next meeting.
The Committee discussed the TIF project referred to as the
Tess Corners Drainage Project between Janesville Road and Tess
Corners Drive. The estimated cost of that portion of the pro-
ject without the bridge is $140,000 to $150,000. The Committee
expressed concern regarding who would pay for the portion of
the project on State right-of-way. It was noted that Francis
Lamb and E. J. Snlentine favored an open ditch. supt. Bertram
will meet with Ruekert & Mielke to discuss alternatives.
It was also noted that the City Engineers did not feel there
would be time to complete the Tess Corners project from the
fire house to the Cornell Bridge to comply with TIF requirements.
The Committee discussed the other TIF projects, and those
approved for bids will be let.
The Committee reviewed Atty. Molter's opinion that a citation
should be issued to the Kettner's regarding the catch basin
matter, for violation of Chapter 10 of the Municipal Code.
Supt. Bertram will follow-up on this matter and report to the
Committee at the next meeting.
The Committee discussed the Guernsey Meadows Addn. No. 1 landscaping concerning the utility poles placed on the berm.
It was noted that the berm was approved by the Plan Commission
to create a buffer between the subdivision and Hwy. 24. The
Committee will review the landscaping plan at their next
meeting.
The Committee discussed the possible sale of a parcel of City- owned property on Schultz Ln., and requested that at the time
the parcel is reviewed by the Plan Commission for recommendation
on the sale that a proper road dedication be obtained for an
ultimate 60' road.
The Committee discussed a drainage easement through the Agenton
property on Skylark Lane. Supt.Bertram was requested to
advise Mr. Agenton that there are no funds at the present time
to reroute the water down the easement through his property
as was discussed years ago.
The Committee determined that Woods Road would be designated
as the "haul road" for the sewer interceptor construction project.
The meeting adjourned at 11:OO P.M.
