MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 20, 1983
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Chairman Penovich.
Also present were Committee Members Colburn and Dumke, Mayor Salentine,
Geroald P. Lee and Supt. Bertram.
The committee discussed the proposal for construction of a retention
pond in the area of the Tess Corners Industrial Park. Present to
discuss the matter were E. J. Salentine, Alton Boldt, Howard Imme,
Arnold Kurth, Richard Schaumberg and Fred Rlstow. Mr. Boldt indicated
he felt there could be a less expensive way to direct the drainage.
(Estimated cost of the project is $230,000.00). Mr. Imme felt there was
not a serious water problem and spoke in opposition to the project.
He requested to go on record as being opposed to the project. Discussion
took place on alternate ways of handling the water without the retention
pond. One of the proposals was to look into the feasibility of draining
the water from College Ave. to the west. It was the decision of the
committee to have the city engineer's, as well as Supt. Bertram, review
the possibility of diverting the water to the west.
The committee discussed the drainage problem in the area of Lake Lore.
Supt. Bertram advised that he will take steps to insure that no water
will come from the Tudor Oaks area south of McShane Dr, to Lake Lore.
He further advised a concrete invert will be installed at the outflow
of the storm sewer that enters Lake Lore. Following completion of the
project, Mr. Hojnacki has agreed to accept the responsibility of

maintenance. 0 - The committee discussed possible reconstruction of Schultz Lane. The
present owners of the Hunters Nest has requested that Schultz Lane be
asphalted at a cost of approximately $20,000.00, the cost to be borne
by thedjacent property owners. The committee will invite all concerned
to the next meeting of the committeo to dlscuss this proJoct further.
The committee disucssed the projesed drainage project in the area of
Lannon Drive and Meadow Drive. Mr. Neil Borgman, Briargate La.,
appeared at the meeting to request the ditch along his lot line be
enclosed. The committee will review this matter to determine the
feasibility of enclosing the ditch. The committee is recommending
approval of the Meadowdale Subdivision Drainage Project at a cost
not to exceed $240,000.00 with funds to come from TIF Dist. No. 3 and
that the city attorney draft the necessary easements.
The committee discussed the installation of a street light at the
intersection of Martin Drive and East Drive. It was the committee's
decision to provide the cost of normnl installation which is approx-
imately $1200.00.
South Denoon Road Reconstruction Project was discussed, Plans for
this project are proceeding on schedule, The committee is recommending
that a catch basin be included in the bids. The city will participate
in installation of a tile for a distance of 1600 feet.
portion of the charges will be 70 cents per ft. or an amount not to
exceed $1200.00. Funds to be taken from TIF District No, One.
The committee discussed TIF projects in TIF Dist No, 2. Supt. Bertram
is to discuss with the property owners on the south and west line of
Genbrook Subdivision regarding the installation of a drainage ditch
Supt. Bertram will discuss with Ruekert & Mielke the culverts in the
area of Tess Corners Dr. and Woods Road.
Supt. Bertram reported and he has discussed with Mr. Harold DeBack
the moving of the ditch on Kelsey Dr. 20 feet to the north. Mr.
DeBack agreed to this proposal.
Any extra cost will be charged to Roger Johnson.
