MINUTES OF MEETING HELD AUGUST 25, 1983
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Penovich at 7:00 P.M.

Also present were Committee Members Dumke and DeAngelis, Ald.
Colburn and Nilsson, Mayor Salentine and those on the attached list.
The committee discussed the off-season storage of the weed harves-
tor equipment. Mr. Paul Castronova requested that the equipment
be stored in the city garage. At the recommendation of Mr.

Bertram, the committee determined that the equipment would be
stored outside due to lack of space inside the garage.
The committee discussed the water problem on Longfellow and
Saroyan. Several neighbors advised that the drainage problem on
this city-owned lot created a problem on their properties, and
suggested that a swale and invert be placed at this intersection.
Ald. DeAngelis moved for approval of placing inverts on this
city-owned lot and to add the cost to the selling price of the
lot. Seconded by Ald. Dumke, motion carried. Mr. Bob Stack was
present to discuss the dewatering of this lot. The neighbors
expressed concern about the grade and level of the house to
be built to prevent the water from flooding their property. Mr. Stack will appear before the Finance Committee regarding the
cost of dewatering and his proposed bid for this city-owned lot.
The committee discussed the possible reconstruction of Schultz
Lane. Mr. and Mrs. Klauser were present. It was noted that Mr.
Paul DeAngelis had contacted the Register of Deeds to research
the ownership of the road to determine if it is private or public.
Discussion will continue at the next meeting.
The committee was advised that Mr. Ray Gray was unable to attend
the meeting and would write to the committee regarding the
landscaping of Guernsey Meadows Addn. No. 1. The committee agreed
to write a letter to Mr. Gray concerning this matter.
Mr. David Ludwig was present to discuss his drainage problem.
Since water from the Guernsey Meadows Subdivision flows through
his land, he had talked to Mr. Orville Kurth of the Soil and Water
Conservation Dept. and obtained a possible solution to the problem,
whichdid not work out. Mr. Ludwig was requested to contact them
again. Discussion will continue at the next meeting.
Mr. Alvin Guhr was present to discuss his drainage problem. Ald.
Penovich reported that the County Drainage Board is inactive.
supt. Bertram was requested to contact surrounding communities
to determine what they do with such problems. Discussion will
continue at the next meeting.
The committee discussed placing dog kennels at the City Garage.
supt. Bertram advised that he was against placing animals in
the City Garage due to the barking, etc. supt. Bertram will go
to the Town of Norway to take a look at their operation.

The committee discussed the Ditch Invert Policy and deferred same
to review New Berlin's policy.
The committee discussed the request of residents on Tess Corners
Drive abutting the retention pond for lot line irons. The
committee agreed not to put in new irons because according to their information there was no provision in the contract to provide
the irons.
The committee acknowledged receipt of a letter from St. Paul's Church in Tess Corners, and a response will be sent explaining
the City's position.
The committee reviewed the plan for the culvert crossing on
Cornell and Tess Corners and also Woods Road.
The committee reviewed the TIF projects.
