MINUTES OF MEETING HELD TUESDAY, AUGUST 26, 2008
Mayor Johnson called the meeting to order at 7:35 p.m. and led those present in the
Pledge of Allegiance.
ROLL CALL
Mayor Johnson, Ald. Snead (left at 8:00 p.m.), Pavelko, Borgman, Werner, Schneider,
Schaefer, Fiedler, City Attorney Molter and Deputy Clerk Blenski.
STATEMENT OF PUBLIC NOTICE
Deputy Clerk Blenski stated that the meeting had been noticed in accordance with the
Open Meeting Law.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
There were no issues with the agenda.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Ald. Pavelko moved to approve minutes of the August 12, 2008 meeting. Ald.
Werner seconded; motion carried.
NEW BUSINESS
A Representative from Wisconsin Probation and Parole, Ms. Sally Tess, was introduced
by Mayor Johnson. Ms Tess followed her talking point handout for her presentation on
the Sex Offender Residency Ordinances (attached). Ms. Tess further stated that a study
she was reading today indicated that 29% of all sexual assaults are committed by
individuals younger than 17 years old, which may be another consideration that needs to
made on how to handle those individuals.
ADJOURNMENT
Ald. Fiedler moved to adjourn at 8:10 p.m. Seconded by Ald. Schaefer, motion carried
unanimously.
