Also present were Aldermen Pionek, Slocomb, Wooward, Salentine, Patterson and Sanders and Finance Director Dawn Gunderson. Ald. D’Acquisto arrived at 7:15 P.M. Mayor De Angelis reported that the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Meeting law. Municipal Judge Peter Lentz presented his 1998 Operating Budget. He explained that the $1,500 he had requested for training could be eliminated because it was included in the Information Systems budget. He requested that operating supplies and expenses be increased to $4,100, up from the $2,600 he had requested, in order to include the cost of a computer terminal and the licensing and software charge for the DOT direct access program for the Court Clerk. The net of these two transactions would have a zero effect on his total budget request. Assistant Chief Andrew Mack from the Muskego Volunteer Fire Department presented their 1998 Operating Budget. Ald. D’Acquisto relinquished his chair on the committee to act as a citizen for discussion. Mr. Mack explained that their budget included $3,000 for snow plowing of their facilities due to concerns with the work and timing of work that has been done by the City’s Parks Department. He also presented a rough estimate of $300,000 for them to establish an ambulance service. This would include $110,000 for the purchase of an ambulance and three employees to staff the operation. The Mayor requested that each of the Aldermen provide him with estimates of their annual traveled miles to determine an amount for reimbursement and an estimate of the other types of expenses that they feel they should be reimbursed for and the amount.
