MINUTES OF MEETING HELD JANUARY 9, 1997
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 P.M. by Mayor De
Angelis. Also present were Aldermen Pionek, Rasmussen,
Salentine, Sanders and Suhr, and Clerk-Treasurer Marenda.
Aldermen D'Acquisto and Patterson were absent.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda reported the meeting was noticed in
accordance with the Open Meeting law on 12/31/96.
Ald. Suhr moved to convene into Closed Session pursuant to
19.85(l)(c)Wis.Stats. Considering employment, promotion,
compensation or performance evaluation data of any public
exercises responsibility, more specifically the Compensation
employe over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or

Rasmussen seconded, motion carried by a roll call vote of 5-0.
Committee reconvened into Open Session.
The Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer reviewed with the Committee the
providing of secretarial service to the Council Committees and
Parks and Recreation Board. They recommended a part-time
Commission and Building secretaries. This employee would work
position be created at the same rate of pay as the Plan
an average of less than 19 hours per week, attending evening
meetings to record the minutes and then transcribing the
minutes either at home or in City Hall, depending on the type
of computer they have and what arrangements could be made.

The Mayor noted the AFSCME unit has asked for a proposal in
writing which they will evaluate since this position would
operate outside the regular work day of 8:OO AM - 4:30 PM.
Ald. Rasmussen moved to direct the Mayor and Clerk-Treasurer to
proceed toward the creation of a part-time secretarial
position, prepare the Position Description and present to the
union.
Ald. Sanders moved to adjourn at 9:05 P.M. Ald. Rasmussen
seconded, motion carried.
