COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE- MINUTES - 9/26/1996COnnITTEE OF THE WHOLE - CITY OF MUSKEG0 ?lI.lOuTES OF MEETIAG HELD THURBDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1996 The meeting was called to order at ?:2? P.M. by Chairman De Angelis. Also present were Aldermen D'Acquisto, Patterson, Pionek, Rasmussen, Salentine and Suhr and Clerk-Treasurer Marenda. Ald. Sanders was absent. 0 Meeting Law. Clerk-Treas. Marenda reported the meeting was noticed in accordance with the Open Assessor Laura Mecha presented her 1997 Operating Budget and amendments. Assessments will change in 1998 due to the four-year cycle. Discussion to be held on the possibility of deleting $35,000 from the Revaluation Expenses and adding it to the Capital Budget. Ald. Rasmussen questioned changing auto allowance to auto reimbursement, or consider feasibility of leasing. Mayor felt it was necessary to get a year's experience to keep track of mileage. Ald. Rasmussen felt all full time employees on auto allowance should track mileage for possible switch to auto reimbursement. Tess Corners Volunteer Fire Department Chairman of the Board Jeff Verburgt and Tom Kronschnabl presented their 1997 Operating Budget. Muskego Volunteer Fire Company Chief Andy Mack and Vice President Randy Schuler presented their 1997 Operating Budget. Ald. D'Acquisto was excused from the meeting for the presentation and returned upon its completion. Police Chief John Johnson presented his 1997 Operating Budget along with several amended pages. Municipal Judge Peter Lentz presented his 1997 Operating Budget. Clerk-Treasurer Jean Marenda presented the 1997 Operating Budgets for Clerk-Treasurer, Elections, City Hall, Administration and Finance Department. Mayor De Angelis presented the 1997 Operating budget for Mayor/Aldermen. Mayor was requested to obtain the 1996-to-date report on use of the Mediation Service for presentation at the 10/3/96 meeting. COMMUNICATIONS AND MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS AS AUTHORIZED BY LAW The Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for September 30th to review the Compensation and Classification Study was postponed. Mayor reported the School Board asked that the joint meeting be held early in October. Ald. D'Acquisto felt the issues were too significant to be resolved at one meeting and wished communication with the Board had been requested earlier. Due to being in the middle of the budget process, the Aldermen determined their first available meeting date would be Tuesday, October 29th. Ald. Patterson moved to adjourn at 10:45 P.M. Ald.
