MINUTES OF MEETING HELD THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19, 1996
Angelis. Also present were Aldermen D'Acquisto, Patterson,
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 P.M. by Chairman De
Pionek, Rasmussen, Salentine, Sanders and Suhr and
Clerk-Treasurer Marenda.
Clerk-Treas. Marenda reported the meeting was noticed in
accordance with the Open Meeting law.
Mayor noted the presentation of the 1997 Operating Budget by
Department Heads would include major changes only.
Building Director Chuck Dykstra presented his 1997 Operating
Budget. Chuck was requested to compare purchase of vehicles
for inspectors with lease proposal.
Plan Director Matt Sadowski presented his 1997 Operating
Budget. The Committee requested Matt to look at a 5% increase
in revenues; check comparables with other communities; and,
look at ratio of expense vs. revenue to keep a minimum of last
year's 25% ratio.
Public Works Superintendent John Loughney presented his 1997
Operating Budget. The Committee requested John to propose
Revenue increases.
Information Systems Director Joe Sommers presented his 1997
Operating Budget. Joe was requested to present the salary and
benefit detail of his budget.
Library Director Holly Sanhuber presented her 1997 Operating
Budget. Holly reported when automation project completed, she
would anticipate the Library reopening in the mornings on
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but maybe not in 1997.
Parks Director Peter Theis presented his 1997 Operating
Budget. Pete was requested to prepare a more detailed
comparison of private service vs. parks employees listing total
cost and per acre cost of cutting grass. On the employee side,
in addition to payroll include fuel, oil, maintenance,
equipment depreciation, equipment to haul people to site, etc.
The comparable analysis should be reviewed by the
Clerk-Treasurer.
Recreation Director Gordon Jacobsen presented his 1997
Operating Budget.
The aldermen agreed to a request by Mayor De Angelis to hold a
Special Council meeting on 9/26/96 at 6:50 P.M. to award bid
for Muskego/Wind Lake Canal dredging project.
